Booked a booth for daughters birthday meal, when we arrived someone was already sitting in our pre booked booth, waitress cleared another table for us to sit at and apologised. 1 of the chairs were heavily stained which didn't look very nice but there we are it was a chair to sit on. Ordered food and drinks at the bar, diet coke was flat and only filled 3/4 as did not want ice, I've worked on a bar and have always filled a pint glass to the brim whether ice was wanted or not.. starter's of garlic bread arrived, however, I ordered 3 with cheese and 1 without, but 3 without cheese and 1 with cheese came out, explained the error and said just chuck some cheese on them and blast it in microwave, which was done. Our mains arrived which looked very nice and was very nice apart from mine and my daughters steak which was cooked right through and not medium and was too chewy and gristley and could only be fed to the dogs when we got home, everyone else's food to be fair was enjoyable. No checkbacks done by staff due to being understaffed so I blame management there. When our plates were being collected i was told that the chef had not made a mistake with our garlic bread and chef said I had to pay for the cheese!! I can only assume the guy at the bar had misheard me when I placed my order, however, had he read back to me my order and given a receipt this could of been sorted straight away. I really felt for this young person being told by a chef to tell the customer that they would have to pay for some cheese after spending over £80 on food and drinks, I would rather the chef come out and explain that to me rather than send a young person who had already had a few ear bashings from other customers. As a family we have all worked in hospitality and understand the pressure you are put under, hence why we got out of it.. You're young staff you have working there are trying their best and need to be looked after by management and not thrown to the wolves like they...

TL/DR Amazing food, fantastic staff, great service, well worth a visit

The Dunvant is on the main road, with access to a fair sized car park on a side street. There is a beer garden with ample seating. On arriving, there were clear markings for queuing to be seated, and a one way system in place. We were asked if we had the app, we didn't, we were told that was not a problem, and a member of staff would take our orders, we were then asked if we would like open a tab for our table, which we did, then we were shown to our table with menus. The staff were all helpful, polite and well presented. The levels of cleanliness were obvious, as there was one member of staff cleaning and sterilising tables when we arrived, and each table had a small sign that was placed after cleaning. The menu has a good selection of items to cater for most people, including larger and smaller kids meals. We ordered for 2 adults and 4 kids, our drinks arrived quickly, and our food arrived within 15 -20 minutes. The food was fantastic, I had an 8oz rump, lemon pepper sauce, fries and coleslaw. The steak was perfectly done, served on a sizzling plater, on a bed of peppers and onions, the sauce was outstanding, zingy, with a mild peppery kick. My partner had a 12 oz steak, with chips, peas, a grilled 1/2 tomato and onion rings, again the steak was cooked to perfection, served on a large oval platter. The kids all had pizza and chips with corn on the cob, the pizzas were individual deep dish, with a fair sized portion of chips and a small corn cobblet. For dessert the kids had a chocolate mania (a children's version of the candy mania adult dessert) ice-cream, I had the candy mania, my partner had apple crumble and custard, again everything arrived quickly. I can honestly say we all ate all our food and thoroughly enjoyed it, which rarely happens, as one of my kids is a picky eater. We were planning a return visit before we had even left the building, I highly...

Most of the Staff were pleasant enough but did,nt know what they were doing ,out of 4 meals ordered ,3 were lovely but a new york chicken ( I think that,s what it was called ) was inedible, the bacon was swimming in grease & the chicken was slimy ,the member of staff that dealt with our complaint offered a replacement meal or a refund ,we requested a refund as everyone else had finished eating.he returned to inform me that he had reversed the order that I had paid for & the money had been refunded but I would need to go back in to the restaurant with my card to pay for the other meals ,drinks etc. Before we left I checked my online banking & found two payments pending but no refund!! Went to enquire about this to the same person, who then spent around 10 -15 mins "playing" around with the till ,I think he could tell by now that I was getting impatient so he went to the till that I had originally made my transaction & just "plonked"cash in my hand .I checked the amount & found that he had only deducted £1.60 for the uneaten meal ,I said to him that I had paid more than this for the meal ,he glared at me opened the till again took out £5 & threw it at me & said "see you".we then left the premises & returned to the car ,as I was ready to drive away ,this person ran up to my car window & said "Sorry if you thought I was a bit off with you in there" obviously he knew he had overstepped the mark !! I didn't reply & simply drove off instead of telling him exactly what was on my mind!!! Also we are our meal in the beer garden ,there was a hand sanitizing station to the entrance but this was empty so I mentioned it to a passing waitress ,she said she would get it refilled straight away ,it was still empty when we left !! Luckily I always carry sanitizer in my bag .Some members of staff need more training as the lack of it lets...

Went there recently with work staff for a birthday occasion & found it to be a nice atmosphere with good service all round. Bar staff were friendly & helpful too. Drinks were decently priced or competitive with other similar places. The only downside from having a full 5-star rating was the Lava Cookie dessert that I ordered. Found it to be a disappointment despite being well presented. It genuinely said "large" on the menu which is kinda misleading since it ended up being the size of a hockey puck. And you wouldn't call or define that as "large". It comes with one small scoop of Vanilla ice-cream on top as well, so had to pay an extra £1 to have which wasn't even a generous scoop for that price as well. Not only that, the taste of the vanilla ice-cream wasn't great either. I'm not sure what brand they're using but it neither tasted like Joe's or a gelato based ice-cream which would've complimented that style of dessert better. Anyways, I paid £6 overall for the Lava Cookie including the extra scoop to go with it. The experience overall was a let down. And therefore, it just didn't feel like value for money & has genuinely put me off from ordering desserts there again. I honestly don't mind coming back there to show the management to further give constructive feedback with having the opportunity to show how this dessert could be improved. I actually make homemade gelato based ice-creams of all varieties since I make them for all types of family occasions which I could bring in so that they can sample that to make a comparison with the vanilla ice-cream that they serve there to the customers.

Visited on a Tuesday evening after the recent refurbishment and was very impressed. A good mix of a bar area for drinks and meals as well as the restaurant area for diners especially families and small groups. The new booth style tables and seats are great and worth reserving. Food was superb, we had a selection of dishes including a mixed grill which was enormous and the steak was cooked perfectly. The fish and chips was delicious and the batter crisp and tasty. Despite being busy the food was delivered quickly and exactly as ordered.. A special mention to the guy behind the bar (Ben?) who took our food and drinks order and was so knowledgeable of the various lagers and ales on offer. The IPA he recommended was perfect with my food choice, he clearly takes pride in what he does. 10/10 all round and we will definitely return soon.

Me and my grandpa visited on a tuesday afternoon the pub was completely empty not even a staff member in sight we waited from around 11:56 till 12:10 in an empty pub walking around looking for staff as we were gonna leave 3 members of staff leave the staff room at this point its still just us two in the pub around 20 minutes after arriving at the pub there is finally someone on the bar seconds later more people come in and the bar staff are quick to serve the people who have just walked in . Food was standard pub food and relatively cheap. Used to be our favourite pub before it got its makeover now we probably wont be back.
