The main thing I want to say is I wish I had found this place years ago.... a fantastic view fabulous staff... sensational food and the landlord.... well after our next booking in two weeks I will be sad to see him go. It's a Robinsons hotel and I do feel that Robinsons do need to do some work on the building structure itself however other than that our stay was quite fantastic... the gluten free options are the best I've seen in a long time.... we had fish and chips bruchetta and sea bass and the food was exquisite and service impeccable.... the landlord went above and beyond for all the guests residential or not and he was fantastic with the staff... the staff were all very lovely and sweet and couldn't do enough for us... our room was clean shower was hot and the view from our window was lovely .. we went as a couple and walking along the stony beach after dinner the views were stunning even on a cloudy day... we intend to come again before Mal leaves and bring our six year old as I'm sure he's going to love it crabbing on the jetty. There are dog friendly rooms single double and family rooms ava so it suits everyone... I've seen the odd bad review on here but you can honestly take my opinion as truth as if I don't like something I'm not one to hold back but there is nothing I can fault at this place at all... I just hope the person taking over does this place justice and treats the staff as well as I saw Mal treat them... this was our first visit but I do try to get on a first name basis with people I truly like. It's not far from the local town but far enough that it's so lovely and quiet... if your going to eat I recommend booking way in advance as especially mon to weds through August it can get very busy for dinner service. This is a sincear review as you will see on my other reviews of other establishments I will always say it how I see it .. Thank you for our lovely stay and we can't wait to see you all again in a couple of weeks x

The Gazelle Hotel nestles on the shore of the Menai Straits with wide ranging views including the famous menai suspension bridge and Bangor pier. Christian and the team have done a magnificent job of creating a warm, welcoming and stylish haven to eat, sleep and relax. We had family staying at the hotel, so joined them early for breakfast with our three children. It's the personal touches that make a difference, they were happy for the kids to select elements of the cooked breakfast that they liked, a plate of pastries came straight out of the oven, and fresh juices were served in bottles on the table to help yourself. Afterwards we sat out at tables on the beach having coffee, while the kids marvelled at the jellyfish off the slip. There is a brilliant smugglers cove just along the beach, which my son thought was amazing. And for the more adventurous, I think you can get a ribride from the slip out and around Puffin Island! We even bought a lovely painting as a momento for my parents, as the hotel displays and sells work from local artists. All in all, highly recommend a visit.

For a fantastic location it would be really hard to beat. I would love to give this hotel a 5 star rating but I can't.

Its really annoying because its little things that let this place down. If the owner reads this, please can you attend to a few simple things.

I totally love where the place is and the view is amazing...(to get up early and see the sunrise...well worth the effort) ....now to my concerns.....

As I said I really wanted to give this a 5* rating but in all honesty I just can't at the moment.

We stayed in the annex as we had our family pet with us. It's located just next door to the main hotel. It was warm, comfortable and the view was amazing. But the attention to detail really let the whole place down.

It just needs a bit of a tidy up and possibly a lick of paint.

The garage door is broken and the first thing you see is a very unappetising inside of a messy garage full of the detritus of junk that the place uses .

The area just needs a bit of TLC and to be tidied up. Nothing major but it does detract from the general ambiance of the place.

The room also is in need of a bit of TLC. A lick of paint and a deep clean would work wonders and please can you get the inside light repaired....its a bit hard to get into your room in pitch black.

The outside patio area is a fantastic resource and could look amazing but you let yourself down....its messy and unloved.....its not going to cost a lot to put some nice furniture up there and a few plants etc.

Now to the inside of the room....Again its nicely done out but sadly the attention to detail is lacking.....the room wasn't dirty but it wasn't as a guest would want to have the room either.....again with a bit more effort it would have made my review 5 star. And I know its probably only a small point but the tv you provide is pathetic....I have a bigger screen on my sat nav!

My concerns arent anything major and can easily be dealt with but in this day and age I think guests are looking for very high standards. With some effort I believe you can provide that level of excellence.

My one real complaint that I think really lets you down the most was the breakfast......

The table was greasy, it had bits of debris on the floor from the night before....The yogurts were warm, the juice was warm. And noone wants to pour their cereal from a massive box that could be yonks old.....those little boxes of cereal look so much more professional and mean you can provide a much wider choice of cereal.

The tea and coffee took an age to arrive...then there was no sweetner and that took another 5 minutes to sort out...

.When the food arrived it was such a let down....The ingredients looked and tasted like very poor quality.

The bacon was inedible, the egg was hard the mushrooms had enough grease to run my car engine, the toast provided a stingy 2 pieces per person and the portion of beans were the smallest I have ever been given....I could actually have counted how many you gave me. The teapot had a crack around the spout and there was music blaring out of the speakers (although it was turned down when I asked).........

I do intend to give you another try because the area is so tranquil and it really lifted my spirit but i would not want to have the breakfast again unless it was vastly improved. Even if you charge a bit more then I would happily have paid another £5 or so for a better quality breakfast.

I hope you take notice of my remarks as they are intended to be helpful to you but also to alert other travellers of the drawbacks...... Have a look at the standard of cleanliness and tidiness and improve the quality of your breakfast and I would gladly give this...

OK. Full disclosure, I have not stayed here so cannot comment on the rooms, I left 5 stars for rooms because I don't want to mark them down for something I have no experience of.... However..... I do drink here quite regularly, (once a week the Mrs and I have a date night, often it's here, but not always) It's one of my favourite pubs on Anglesey (I have 2 or 3 favourites and regularly visit lots more than that :-) ), the location is amazing, in summer It's the best place to sit and relax whilst having a pint and watching the world go by. The view over the straits is second to none. You can see everything from the Great Orm to Menai Bridge, There really is no way to put into words just how relaxing it is to sit here and chill. The quality of the drinks is excellent, well kept ale, and good quality wine (the Mrs is a bit of a wine snob and it gets her seal of approval) We have eaten here a few times over the last 6 months and its always been very good, Yesterday we came for a meal with a couple of friends (who have also eaten here before) It was outstanding........ The new menu is small, but that's a great sign because it means the chef can focus on getting it right instead of trying to produce a large number of different dishes (If you have ever watched Gordon Ramsey you will understand) We ended up having Starters, Mains and Desserts (that never happens, we are strictly starters or desserts people) we had Peri King Prawns and Scallops as starters (there were 4 of us but both couples ended up ordering the same meals) It's hard to describe how good the starters were, they were simply mind blowing. The prawns were a great size, perfectly cooked and a really good peri peri kick which didn't overpower the flavour of the prawns but did let me know I was eating Peri Peri.. The Mrs had the Scallops, She likes Scallops and knows the difference between a good one and a bad one, She cleaned her plate (as did our other Scallop eating companion) we managed to return 4 clean plates to the kitchen... even the salad and dressings were devoured, not a single leaf got away from us..... The mains arrived (2 Steak and Ale Pies and 2 duck) and it was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection, piping hot when it was served and so tasty. I have actually run out of words to describe how good the meal was. I didn't have a desert but the others did (apple/raspberry crumble I think) with custard, cream and ice cream. I was stuffed and wanted to save some room for another pint of the excellent Unicorn Ale but I was definitely very jealous of them as it looked fabulous. All in all this is probably the best place I have found on Anglesey either for a quite drink or a meal with friends, The staff are all friendly and very good at what they do, the drinks are great and very well kept (not a large selection of real ale, but what they do have is consistently very good quality) they have good wine that the Mrs likes (which is rare anywhere!!) and the food is such good quality it actually convinced me to write a review on google!! If you cross the bridge to Anglesey you won't have experienced the best there is until you have a drink or a meal at the...
