What can I say about this place. Lovely decor, really great team, all a credit to the owner Kerry. The selection of beer's here are all locally sourced and are very good. Now, you have to bear in mind its a shellfish restaurant and if you go here with a closed mind expecting everything to be available to you then you are somewhat of a non foodie. All the fish here is caught and supplied locally, delivered fresh as to what has been fished for. I went with the intention of trying the crab mornay but today no crab had been potted so I couldn't have it. Did I make a fuss, no, did I demand that it's was advertised on the 'online menu so I must be able to have it', no, I listened to Kerry who explained why there were no crab and chose something else. This fresh fish is from the sea bed, not morrisons fish counter, it was probably foraging on the sea bed this morning and now it was on my plate, so I would urge anyone who feels they have to put negative feedback on here about availability of dishes, if you want it, go and catch it yourself and don't blame the owner as she gives you the best, freshest seafood she can get. I would however urge anyone who is staying or even living in the local area to Cameas to go there and enjoy the plentiful offerings of fresh shellfish for themselves. Hats off the the team, chefs and Kerry for making our night so perfect. We will be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful, belt stretchingly evening. Lee and Emma.

Amazing place ! We visited the Lobster Pot this weekend. I have to say it was everything I anticipated and more. The location was perfect. The staff were warm and welcoming and the food was 100% perfect, starting a new business during a pandemic is hard work and I take my hat off to them taking over during uncertain times when supplies are hard to come by as are good hospitality staff. All the staff were brilliant. We had drinks there the day before and Ceri remembered us and our dog Bobby when we arrived the following day for our meal. They made us feel so welcome. Not everything was available on the menu but the majority was and the service was excellent. The food was excellent from start to finish. The wine was great too. They couldn’t do enough for us. But we are nice people. We are not rude and pompous and we treat hospitality staff as humans and with respect. Most of the recents reviews seem to be from customers who are not like us. They also only complain about service and wait times not the amazing food! Ceri and the team are doing a great job and it can only get better

I hate leaving bad reviews and generally just try and feedback there and then if ever a bad experience with anything… but I felt compelled to leave this one.

The staff were all lovely (although the manager needs to work on complaint handling, see further down and pretty much why I bothered leaving this review!), but the food was not good value for money

Ā£37.50 for the lobster, which I have no issues with at all, lobster is expensive. But it was tiny and I’m pretty sure it was microwaved as it was chewy and came out a little fast for my liking! My wife also had lobster and we were given a bowl of chips, to which I asked if another one was coming but was told it was two portions in one bowl for us to share… our kids had more chips each than our so called double adult portion!

Brownie was also hard on one edge. A clear indication that it had been in the microwave too long

We did feedback about the food and wasn’t really too bothered about the whole thing in the grand scheme of life! But when asked again how everything was when we paid, I did just say that it wasn’t great and we had fed back as to why…

This is when the manager spun around from the till and snapped at me ā€œwell we did check back on you several times and you could’ve told us then so we could do something about itā€ā€¦ now, I worked in hospitality myself for 20 years including running Jamie Oliver’s flagship restaurant in the UK. Saying that to a guest is an absolute classic no-no!! You are basically telling the guest their poor experience is their fault!! Besides, we did feed back when asked!

I was also disappointed that I’d taken the time on the booking to note down a pretty important request which was clearly totally ignored

Ā£140 for two adults and two kids. No starters. Only 1 drink each.

Also found the essay on the 2nd page of the menu about why they have had to change the menu recently and put food prices up a little grovelling and distasteful.

Come home and made everyone a sandwich as we were still hungry

Would absolutely not...

Seen this place on plenty of online searches for seafood while visiting Anglesey. On arrival the place looked deserted and looked closed. On entering we were met by staff who asked if we had made a reservation which seemed strange as there were only two people in there. Anyway they accepted a walk in booking and we sat at a table. We ordered two crab dishes with chips and salad , tens minutes later it was brought to us and first thoughts were we are they serving over cooked frozen chips while stating on a sign outside ā€œwe serve the finest sea food locally sourcedā€ I know chips are not sea food but you would expect better quality over quantity at a seafood restaurant. The crab was really nice but the chips were greasy and were unpleasant when bitting into. No salt and pepper at the table which we then asked for. The salt and pepper cellars were greasy and in need of cleaning. The table was so sticky the place mat was stuck to it, the napkins were also stuck to the table and some of the napkin stuck to the table when picked up. Also our drinks glasses were getting stuck. Quite shocking really. Ā£52 for two dishes which is definitely over priced for the quality of what we were served. We paid without complaining and then the worst part came when deciding to use the wc! Absolutely disgusting! Poo still on the baby changing mat! An over filled bin with no lid with what looked like a pair of pants with tissue covered in who knows what ! Toilet paper over the floor and didn’t smell very pleasant to say the least. Bare in mind there were more staff than customers at the time and this is totally unacceptable. Also there was dance music playing which didn’t not fit the scene at all. I should have complained at this point but just wanted to exit asap and simply put it down to a bad experience and certainly will never be coming back again. Don’t waste your money in this filthy...

A bitterly disappointing experience. Thought we would visit as a nice end to our stay only to leave feeling ripped off.

We had our booking moved due to it being apparently at full capacity and the online system shouldn't have allowed it. We turned up 30 mins after our original booking to an empty restaurant then seated in a windowless corner next to the only other people eating there.

After ordering the scallops to start I knew things were not going to go well when we received 3 small pieces of over cooked scallop swimming in oil in a shell with the kind of salad that Id get in my local greasy spoon. At £15 a portion you'd expect better.

The mains were just as bad. I ordered steak and lobster, the lobster looked as if it had been sourced from the frozen isle and heavily overcooked. The chips were frozen and deep fried with the remaining ingredients. Another member of the party was served a lobster thermidor that was swimming in cheese and again poorly cooked. At £47 a dish you expect something that was made with a little more effort and skill than what we were served.

The restaurant seems to be staffed by a group of very young waiters with no managers or experienced staff members to help them. That said they were attentive, helpful and were the only positive take away from an disappointing evening.

If a restaurant specialises in sea food at premium prices you would expect it to at least know how to cook scallops and lobster.

Learn from our mistake and avoid for the...
