Lovely place! We went here for the first time for Mothers Day. It became very busy just after we arrived, and the kitchen seemed to struggle a bit to keep up so there was a bit of a wait between the starter and the main but in fairness they kept us topped up with drinks and it was a nice atmosphere, and when the mains came they were all lovely. Beautifully presented and delicious. Well worth waiting for! The starters were lovely, really tasty. We had one of each option and all came out looking beautiful and each of us commented that our dish was very tasty. And when it came to pudding the pineapple upside down cake stole the show for me, but Mum loved the Sherry Trifle too! Absolutely winning lunch. A little hidden gem of a place. Beautifully clean and with lovely traditional decor with a modern twist. Lovely staff too, most seem quite young and a bit shy so not very chatty but are really happy to do all they can to ensure you have a good hospitality experience, and make sure you feel looked after. We'll definitely go back...
Read moreThe beer selection was fantastic, the food looked amazing but sadly we didn't get to try it as after 15 minutes waiting to be served at the till, we were made to feel decidedly unwelcome after saying we were sitting outside with our dog. We were told there was an hour wait for food, yet the female served 3 other customers while we were waiting for service at the till (she had seen us waiting). We ordered 3 drinks and only 2 were given to us. The beer my husband ordered was still sitting on the pump! Thankfully, the male server noticed and gave it to us.
It's such a shame as we were really looking forward to trying this place. The service has made us decide not to try again. Having been made to feel like a second-class citizen just because of our choice of seating location has really left a sour note.
I feel sorry for the obviously talented chef that front of house...
