Had a burger and chips a couple weeks back and I can’t fault the burger, it was absolutely delicious, as was the coleslaw that came with it. The salad was strange as it was comprised of pickle, lettuce and peppers. The chips were terrible but that’s what I’d sometimes expect when going to a pub. The price was a bit on the expensive side at, but the burger makes it almost worth it. The desert wasn’t great, the brownie was very dry without much taste, though the ice cream was delicious, I had mint choc chip. The service is 100% top notch, can not fault it at all, staff members seem to be bilingual and very friendly and welcoming, always ready to lend a helping hand. The pub itself is very nice, and warm, and has a homely feel to it. The ladies toilets are also very clean and smell very nice. overall 4/5 would definitely recommend. apologies for the half eaten burger pic 😂

Shame we were rushing for the train otherwise would have stayed longer for other dishes and more drinks, even chill in the beer garden. But they were very helpful and gave us the fastest food option. Had fish and chips which came with good amount of tartare sauce and mushy peas. I had a lovely Snowdon Craft IPA. Both of which I forgot to photograph because we were thirsty from a weekend camp & hike and too hungry whilst rushing for the train. Love the decor and pictures dotted around. Worth a visit it you venture to Wales!

We were on route to the Fairies waterfall and spotted this pub not far up the road. It had a very large car park so we parked up and went in for a pint and some lunch. I had the bacon and Brie baguette. It was very tasty and reasonably priced. We then went outside to have a drink in the beer garden, it was lovely and quiet, Could have spent the afternoon there.

I went to The old Ship with a friend for a long overdue special meal. At first everything was lovely our starter's arrived and was good. But when my main arrived, (I had ordered Lamb shoulder with dauphinoise potatoes) it was lamb but served with 3 tiny boiled potatoes. I specifically ordered the lamb because I love dauphinoise potatoes so decided to order it even though it was expensive. I went to the bar to explain that I only ordered the lamb because of the dauphinoise and that's not what I've been given. I was told to choose something else and would be given a refund for the difference. I thanked them and agreed. This is where things started to go wrong. The waiter then came back and said I couldn't have my new order and could only have the lamb (reheated) with mash, again I reluctantly said OK. Few minutes later I was told I couldn't have the lamb with mash potato unless I gave back my refund and paid the full £22.50. I would never have ordered lamb and mash for £22.50 I said I'd lost my appetite after accepting every alternative, to be finally told I had to pay full price for their mistake. They begrudgingly gave me a refund for my main but we asked to speak to the owner as we we're made to feel like it was our fault. The owner came out shouting at me and my friend and when I said that I'd been looking forward to my meal and would now probably just end up with cheese on toast at home, that's when the owner got personal and said "now come on, you've had a starter already, I think we all eat too much these days!" She shouted at myself and my friend from the second she came out to speak to us and at no point would she accept that it was her mistake and that I had been more accommodating accepting every alternative offered, except paying full price for something I hadn't and wouldn't have ordered in the first place. It completely ruined my evening and I felt very intimidated and was close to tears as I left. As we were walking away she shouted after us "Do you want to use my laptop to make the bad review on TripAdvisor?!?" At no point did she say sorry. I wasn't looking for any free drinks or food but an apology would have been the very least she could have given. I would never go...

If you want to be treated like an inconvenience and like terrible service this is the place for you! Very very rude manager/landlady! We politely called ahead prior to our booking, to say we were running 10 minutes late, after spending the day climbing Snowdon, and held up a little by buses. We were threatened with giving our large table away, in a very rude manor. Upon arrival (7 minutes after our booking time), we were told we had to order immediately (if the chef was even prepared to still cook for us), and then told we need to order, eat and give up our table by 8pm. Even if we had arrived at our booked time of 7pm, for a table of 9 people this wouldnt have been achievable! What was really strange was there were only 2 people eating in the restaurant! Clearly didnt want our custom, and dont value their customers! We decided at this point to leave and go elsewhere, we had a brilliant meal, and great service up the road at Maeban Abbey Hotel,...
