The Picture House - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Wales

Staff great and very friendly and accommodating. Food typical bar food but ok and reasonable. However the whole place needs an upgrade. Black walls and dreary book cases make it look so old and dark. Redecorate please!!

Just been there for the first time in years and not much has changed. They had the whole of lockdown to upgrade in decor inside the pub and all they did was paint the outside. Not enough. I know a lot of people who won't go there because of the dreary decor and other matters which are best kept to oneself. Come on guys!!! Do something!!!

Just been back to the pub recently and hallelujah the place is having a makeover!!! The roof is having work done on it as it has been leaking. Apparently the top floor is being turned into bedrooms to be let out and the bar itself is being renovated. I hope they get rid of all the black walls and library which nobody uses and which just collects dust. Cannot wait to see what...

So this is the weatherspoons in Ebbw Vale, lovely place to go for food a big range on the menu, plenty of drinks to choose from like your basic Beers and lagers to your wider range of world Beers and lagers and also as I call it the top shelf is stocked with your large range of spirit's and wines and also a range of your different coffee's and teas etc, plenty of room for a big family or friends day or night out with the option of an upstairs and downstairs. Parking situation is good with a parking area both out front and back of the building, and importantly it's good for wheelchair accessibility as well as the entrance is on a ground...

As usual with Wetherspoons, service and food is pretty good and can’t really complain. The app is super efficient and easy to use, so much easier than going to the bar to order food & drinks. The only issue we had on this visit was the sliced chillies and coriander was missing from the Katsu Grilled Chicken dish, but as soon as we raised the issue with the staff, they brought a separate dish of each, more than what would’ve been on the dish if it had come on the dish originally. Because the problem was resolved without question, I have given 5 stars and will certainly be visiting Wetherspoons...
