absolutely terrible experience. one of the waiters was shockingly rude.

we were sat at a table for around one hour. at c.17:55, we were rudely asked to move by 18:15, as someone had a reservation on the table. naturally, we agreed to this (in spite of the waiter’s hostile manner!). there was no sign on the table prior to us sitting down letting us know that the table was required to be returned.

at 18:02, the same waiter returned and asked us to leave the table immediately. we responded by reminding him that he told us we had the table until 18:15. he then told us we were mistaken, and that the table had a ‘reserved’ sign on it since before we sat there. all of us disagreed, saying it had not been there prior to us sitting down. he continued to argue against us on this point for a few minutes. then, he said: ‘if you’re going to argue - i’m not going to serve you’. we said, no problem, we’re leaving anyway, and promptly left.

it’s a real shame that this happened. the view really was spectacular, and other seats were available - so we would naturally have stayed for another few rounds of drinks, had we not been treated so appallingly.

we were even going to stay for longer, at a different table, in spite of the service being shockingly bad from the moment we first ordered our drinks. the service at the bar was slow and rude, no one acknowledged us and from ordering our drinks it took 10 minutes of standing around to have them poured. We wanted to order some chips for the table we were sat at outside but were rudely told that they were fully booked for food for the rest of the evening.

utterly disappointing and poorly managed.

Whatever, we sat outside at our table and tried to enjoy our drinks with a, I'm still being fair, very spectacular view...

Absolutely SHOCKING, rude and aggressive service. We were gaslit by one of the waiters and threatened. This was after spending 15 minutes at an empty bar trying to get drinks from exceptionally slow bar service.

Full story below:

We were sat outside with our drinks when just before 6pm a member of staff came up to the table and said "just letting you know this table is reserved from 6:15 so you will have to leave by then" and slams down a reserved table sign.

Before we could say anything he had already walked off. 5 minutes later at 6:02 he comes back out and says "right I need this table now you're going to have to leave" to which we responded we still have 10 minutes because the booking was for 6:15.

We then also said that his behaviour was a bit rude considering he had only informed us of the booking moments before. This is where it gets unbelievable:

He then tries to gaslight us by saying "this table has been reserved that's why there was a reserved sign here when you sat down"

He had literally just put the sign there moments ago and addressed us regarding it. We then said to him we saw him put it there and that it was NOT there when we sat down more than an hour ago.

He then gets very aggressive and says "if you are going to argue with me then I'm going to have to stop serving you"... He was kicking us out anyway? It was a very unprofessional way of handling that situation.

I think this pub needs to address the staff attitude as it will drive...

Restaurant was quiet (Fri afternoon) but we liked that - airy & light with huge windows and beautiful view over the bay. Note it is within a caravan site and there are a lot of those evil little barriers to navigate before you can park. We really enjoyed our time here, it felt relaxed and the young waitress was very personable, we didn't wait long for the food either. The food was beautifully presented and mostly very good but with a few surprising letdowns: the focaccia with prawns open sandwich had delicious prawns in a lovely homemade mayonnaise dressing with nice salad on a very dry, pale-white roll barely deserving of the name focaccia, with some very uncalled for margarine on it. The chicken on flatbread dish was absolutely lovely and the mackerel salad starter also very good. The Belgian waffle dessert however was v disappointing, it had strange hard sugar lumps in the quite small waffle and too much sugary strawberry sauce that ruined the taste of the maple syrup. I'd suggest serving the maple syrup in a little jug and omitting the cheap red sauce (not mentioned in the description so I couldn't refuse it). The whole dish was far too sugary, also whipped cream was lacking. I'm applying high standards here as the food is fairly expensive. Still four stars as most food, service, ambience and views were...

The location and view here is absolutely fantastic. The aesthetic and decor is lovely, and the staff were brilliant when we visited! We were quite disappointed with our main meals, hence the 3 stars. Two of our party had fish and chips - the chips were extremely greasy and were ultimately left. One member had the lamb which was very tough, and the final had the chicken which was quite chewy. The meals came very quickly (less than 10 minutes after ordering...we'd have been happy to wait for fresh food!). The desserts on the other hand were absolutely delicious!!! One thing I will say about this restaurant is that the menu is so so varied, that it truly caters for every person - but unfortunately, it seems to be vast at the expense of quality. It's fairly pricey for a quality which wasn't much to rave about. On the whole, I would recommend this place for the view and location and novelty alone - perhaps an earlier booking would have fresher and better quality food!

Visited for lunch. Wasnt aware that the restaurant is part of a holiday park and the car barrier at park entrance took me by surprise, but quickly let through after pressing the intercom button and explaining in had a reservation. Plenty of parking available at the location. Once in restaurant, quickly greeted by staff and shown to a lovely table which had a great view across the bay. Waiting staff were very polite and attentive. Food order was taken and then served in no time ( as quick as wethers! :) ) I had the shredded chicken with rice and prawn crackers, which was very tasty especially the sauce. Dining partner ordered the fish cakes with chunky chips. The fish cakes actually came as a number of fish cake balls..still delicious though i was told. I was lucky enough to nick a few chunky chip off her plate- really nice. Following our meal we went for a stroll in the nearby beach. All in all really enjoyed the afternoon.. good food, good location, great staff
