Today I decided to visit the really lovely Benllech Beach on Anglesey. As you will see from my pictures the beach is 'a real gem' of the beautiful Anglesey coastline, and I managed to talk to a few dog walkers on the beach; as dogs are allowed at certain times of the year (mostly all year) on certain areas of the beach. :)
I have visited Benllech Beach many times before, and in the Summer it is a haven of activity as Benllech itself is a firm family holiday destination favourite! The beach provides lovely views out to sea and it is possible to walk all the way along the beach to Red Wharf Bay, (the neighbouring beach), following the Anglesey Coastal Foot-Path. :)
Nearby, there is also a nice beach cafe and beach shop and ice-cream parlour! :) Car Parking is also provided (with Public Toilets) which is Pay and Display for the most part, with free of charge Disabled Bay Parking Areas too! :)
'Why not enjoy Benllech Beach today?' Thank-you for reading my review. Best to...
Read moreThis is the perfect beach to walk out of season. No restriction on exercising dogs between 1st Oct and 30th April although the is access the South area of sand to to take your dog, the access point is clearly signposted on the promenade where dogs must be kept on lead. When the tides are right it is possible to walk to the Ship Inn for a drink or meal (about 1 mile), along the beach and back along the coastal path or Visa versa according to the state of the tide. The beach is clean gently shelving sand with very little debris brought in by the tides. No problem with parking out of season, but often difficult in the daytime during peak tourist season. Village has good facilities and shops including Coop and Tesco Express. Good road access and the coastal path to Moelfre for fish and chips at the Coastal...
Read moreBenllech is a great beach. Almost completely sandy, just a few lines of rocks. There is a sensible policy about dogs on the beach: a large area nearest the car parking and amenities is dog-free during the summer season to benefit families and children. This leaves a huge area for dog walkers.
The beach is huge at low tide and you can actually follow it all the way South round to Red Wharf Bay.
As I mentioned, the are amenities near the beach in Benllech - public toilets, shop, cafes, etc. Beyond that it is a short walk up the hill into Benllech for the shops, supermarket, pubs and takeaways.
All in all a splendid beach for holidaymakers in the season and for everyone...
