Chunky Chicken — Restaurant in Walsall

Amazing chunky chicken branch! This was my first time trying Chunky Chicken and it certainly won’t be my last! I came from London and stayed over at my Uncle’s house in Walsall and was surprised by how reasonable the prices were! Where I live in London, you won’t get 10 wings with 2 medium fries for £5 that’s for sure! The customer service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and efficient! The food was amazing! The wings was hot, piping fresh and well cooked throughout! The wings were bursting with flavour and was definitely well seasoned! I really enjoyed their wings and I must say those were the best chicken wings I’ve had in a while! The flavour was epic! The wings were aesthetically pleasing and were of a great size! Chunky Chicken is going head to head with KFC that’s how good their chicken wings are! They are honestly better than Dixy who are further down Wednesbury Road.The fries were amazing. They were fresh, crispy and delightful! Overall, I am very satisfied and I will definitely be ordering from here when I visit my Uncle in Walsall! I strongly recommend Chunky...

Good tasting food would give 5 star if two things were done right. The requested level of spice for piri piri chicken was mild. But I received hot as the staff member said there is no mild one it jas spice with it. If that was the case that should have been disclosed first as I ordered it for my 19month old daughter. So i ate around the coating to leave her the middle without spice. Second thing was it was fried chicken dipped in sauce and grilled. This is not grilled chicken as was advertised on the poster. If you want a child friendly option just get the regular chicken strips they are a bit salty but remove the coating and it will be fine for younger children who need low salt diet as salt is only in the coating. The food is definitely a highlight here with a good variety of options, including peri peri chicken, rice and the usual staples of a takeaway (fries and burgers) But the customer service leaves a little bit to be desired, the staff are not particularly polite and just tend to answer your questions with a 'whatever' attitude. For example I had the peri peri strip burger and specifically asked "is it hot" the answer was words to the effect, yeah it is fine.

Upon receiving said burger I found out my definition of hot and there version of fine do not match up, with the burger being particularly hot. Still the fries were good and my son's enjoyed their meals.
