Duck in Plum sauce, has tiny sauce pot on the side. The £6.70 spring rolls are so small they fit in the palm of your hand. The Singapore Vermicelli noodles didn't have as much flavour as the ones I have ordered elsewhere. The special fried rice was more like boiled rice with stuff mixed in. I have eaten inside Peninsular and it was amazing so I can't believe how terrible this delivery experience was. I pray that there restaurant food hasn't sunk this far and wouldn't recommend getting it delivered after my experience. No prawn crackers included either for almost £50 which is very unusual. So disappointed!

Recently dined at Peninsular Streetly. Wasn't sure what to expect as I've heard their takeaway food is good. The starters are standard and everything you'd expect from a local takeaway. Some starters I felt were over priced (prawn toast, battered prawns). Our butterfly prawns were rock hard and burned. For the price this was disappointing. Chicken satay sauce was lovely but I would be interested to know how much food is made fresh Vs what's frozen and fried. But overall, this is takeaway food with an option to dine in the restaurant. The kids novelty ice cream was a nice touch.

saw great reviews but not our experience. It is like eating in takeaway shop food. food is not as fresh as you want comparing to food in Birmingham Chinatown. food presentation is poor for a restaurant. hot pot is not presented in hot pot but a white bowl. background music is so loud like in hospital environment. only nice food is their tofu. the rest are so so. entrance to the car park is not easy to see at night.

We visited this restaurant recently and cannot believe how bad the service is.

The welcome is none existent and we waited a long time for service throughout the evening with constantly having to ask to place orders.

The normal menus were only offered at first until we enquired about seeing the offer that is advertised on the website then the other menus appeared.

Parts of our order were missed. We then had to wait again for the missing items.

The Staff seemed more interested in smaller tables or the take out part of the restaurant.

We spent a considerable amount of money that evening from the food to alcoholic drinks including cocktails so to our horror after dessert we asked for my daughter’s birthday cake to be brought out, which again we waited a long time!

We were then told we could not have any plates or forks unless 10% was added to our bill. As you can imagine my 9 year old daughter just wanted to enjoy her birthday cake and we were all in total shock they were charging us for these items.

In all my years of celebrating birthdays in many restaurants, I have never ever been charged for plates/forks! ( I think being charged nearly £30 or any charge for that matter for these items is disgusting)

This really just put the nail in the coffin on the whole evening especially as it was a special occasion.

This is unacceptable service and very disappointing especially as I live...

We’ve been loyal customers of The Peninsular for well over 20 years. As a family, we’ve celebrated many special occasions with you — most recently a celebration for four — and we regularly order takeaway, often spending £60 or more per visit.

Today, Thursday 22nd May, we decided to treat ourselves midweek and placed a collection order. As always, the food was good and consistent, which we truly appreciate.

However, when collecting our order, my daughter politely asked if we could have an extra bag of crackers, as the portions are quite small. We were surprised to be told, rather curtly, “We usually only give out one as you don’t pay for them.” This response felt unnecessarily dismissive and bordered on rude.

While it’s not about the money — we had, after all, just paid for a full meal — it is about the attitude. After decades of loyal custom, we would hope for a more welcoming and appreciative approach. Unfortunately, this exchange has left us disappointed, and we’re now considering taking our business to an establishment that values its...

Sorry guys my best mate tells me how good this place is but earlier not great.Had just walked the dogs in park and due to time restrictions thought I’d pop in and order a smallish takeaway(£20). On ordering I explained I had dogs in car and I wouldn’t leave them. I ordered and payed at 7.10 and was told maximum wait 15 - 20 mins. I returned at 7.35 and asked for food but nothing. I waited another 20 mins before I approached a member of staff in restaraunt. She was smiley but apologised and said it was going to be at least another 5 mins. At this point I gave up and asked for my money back. 2 stars given because I did get an apology and smile.Sorry peninsulas but this order was small but I also had plans to return with family but not after todays experience. Will stick...
