Not very good service !

We usually only go to the Hatton mainly for drinks and not eating.

We booked a Boxing Day meal with family and we treated very rudely by a member of staff.

Our children are young adults being 18 and 17 years old. They didn’t fancy anything off the main menu so we wanted to order 2 children’s meals each (to make up for the size) and we were informed we were not allowed to do this as they were over 10 years old !

The woman serving us stated they do this everywhere so I mentioned they do not do this at the London Bridge pub and I’ve never come across it anywhere else either and I explained it’s pretty ridiculous if we are paying we aren’t allowed to order a child’s portion due to the age restriction on the menu. You are cooking the food anyway , why does it matter the age of the person eating it? ! Absolutely terrible.

My mother in law also usually order children’s meals due to portion size too.

I asked for some Vinegar and she went on to say basically she will get it me after serving everyone’s food in a not very nice way Then when she has served the last dish asked if she could get any condiments so we just reiterated about the vinegar after she blanked me. The staff member had a terrible attitude problem and should not be in the customer service arena.

All of the other bar staff and younger waitress were very lovely and pleasant and the cheese pie was very good despite how awkward we were made to feel by this person.

Won’t be going back...

The pub is absolutely beautiful and in such a lovely location, however had such a bad experience for what was meant to be a relaxed meal out. Upon arrival and asking if they had a table for 2, we were told that due to being a walk in, they may not be able to seat us which we fully understood, however the pub was completely empty inside when looking around which was quite confusing. After being lead outside, we were told to pick a table and had been left without being given any welcome, guidance or information on ordering. We waited half an hour for menu’s, so had to go inside and ask for them as we received no service at all, unlike other walk in and reserved tables. We finally ordered food, after being told they had run out of multiple items, but waited over an hour and had still not received anything. Throughout this time, we saw every other table be seated and served food whilst we still waited. Food and drinks were being given to wrong tables, customers kept having to be moved around the outside seating area, which confused staff and concerned customers, which is such a shame as the waiting staff seemed polite.

The whole experience was so negative, as we never received food and had to go elsewhere due to being so hungry after an hour and a half of waiting, not being able to wait any longer. I’m not sure whether our table was lost in the chaos and confusion, but unfortunately we will not...

Unsavoury place to spend Father's Day meal. I don't trust the cooking or the service. After a lovely walk dodging showers by the beautiful Hatton Locks we came in here where we had booked for Sunday lunch. A big mistake. Better to come here just for the carpark than their overpriced food. We had a Sunday roast platter. It was glorified soggy wet school food though the chicken was tasty enough. What really spoilt it was the way we were charged £3.60 for the water when we got the bill. This must be one of the ways they make up for a service charge. We had pints with our meal but I asked if we could have some water on our table. We were diddled. They brought some still water in a Hatton Arms Flask. We had a couple of sips each. Apparently this was still water and we had not specified tap water. This could easily have been tap or filtered water anyway. It did not come from a bottle. It was never explained that we would be charged so much for water. After we had finished our meal we had to wait half an hour before I had to go to ask for the bill. This demonstrates that they do not need the tables for other customers. They are not busy enough. We left feeling fleeced. So if you want overpriced soggy food with unexplained extras this is perfect. The beautiful flight of locks nearby does not deserve to be dragged down by this very...

Good pub with large car park and grass area leading down to the canal. Plenty of walking available along the canal, good for dog walkers. The pub is spacious inside and also has a raised area outside where you can eat meals. If eating outside, orders have to be paid for as you go along. Inside a tab can be set up. Good variety of real ales were on offer, I think these change regularily. For the gin drinkers there is a selection of gins. Slightly cut down menu for outside eating which included pan fried fish, fish and chips, burgers, steaks and various interesting vegetarian options. Service was good, orders taken efficiently, and delivered to the table quickly. Dirty glasses and plates were also removed promptly. All in all a good experience, coffee was also well made. In easy reach for canal boats, so reasonable place to moor up for the night. Also in easy reach by road as not far off from the Warwick bypass and the M40. If you sit outside on the decking you are unable to have a tab and have to pay for each order. Alas that is not a complaint about the pub, but more so about some of the customers who insist on free meals and drinks. ***Update*** In 2018 the same standards are being kept. Busy still doing well.

Spent last Friday evening here, great spot by the canal for a beer but was really disappointed by some of the food given the pricing - had the chicken parfait starter. The bread was burnt and literally crumbled to bits, not sure why they’d serve it like that. Had the crispy beef too which was like beef jerky it was so overcooked and dry, honestly like a dog chew. Sent these back and the manager took them off the bill. Had the roast lamb main which give them their dues was a lot better and worth the money. The lamb kofta we had for mains as well was hit or miss, struggle to see how some dry koftas and flavourless couscous and a small bit of bread is £21.50 - overall £55 for two mains seems very steep. Beer options were good, but service was so slow on the terrace. Wanted a dessert but was fed up waiting for someone to take order so just asked for the bill.

Good food, apart from the PLASTIC(!) embedded in the brownies! Last corner of it was full of broken plastic. Notified the staff and they sent the manager over, who to be quite honest I found rather condescending. I mentioned that I had autism (which made the whole thing worse due to sensory issues with food), and she then said "oh we've all got a bit of that don't we". I hope you're reading this, because no "we" don't, you would know about it if you did, do not make it seem like something to be taken lightly as it can be debilitating at times. I will definitely not be visiting again, mostly due to the managers comment on my disability. (P.S: I used to love brownies, and I haven't been able to eat one since, they repulse me, still think autism is a joke?)
