We visited for the Christmas Kingdom. When we arrived it was wet, windy and awful weather. We arrived feeling Christmassy despite the poor weather. (This rating does not consider the weather as that's not your fault!)
Upon arrival we had booked in to visit Father Christmas at 10.10am so that was the first thing we did. The first part, Enchanted Forrest was sweet, really magical, but unfortunately it all went down hill from there. We visited Santa in a big group and lots of crying, aggitated children were all visiting santa in the same room at the same time. It was quite awkward actually having a special time spent with strangers and screaming children watching.
The other Christmas activities were nice, but nothing special. We noticed other families especially in the gingerbread making section grabbing more than 2 pots of sweets and staff were allowing this. We followed the rules and only stuck to 2. We felt rushed as people were looking for seats.
The rest of the activities were fine... nothing special but all under cover from the bad weather. The show was fine, a sit down was welcomed, but the quality of show wasn't great. Microphone kept cutting out, it didn't add anything to our trip.
The wishing tree was again, a squish with people's wishes being trodden on in mud and actually my child noticed this and said, what are all those piles of wishes doing in the mud...
The reindeer food making was cute, but quick. Letter to Santa was under a gazebo, which was very windy, but it was fine.
You didn't need nice weather as it was mostly under cover (the Christmas parts)
When we went into the toy part at the end, the quality and variety of toys was awful, especially for an 8 year old. We were shocked at the quality and how the variety was poor. My child was happy with their toy, but as soon as they opened it, it broke!.
The soft play was actually the best bit (usually I don't say that) but it was the highlight of my childrens day... shame.
Considering you pay a high rate for adults there was nothing included for adults... we've been to other places that have included at least 1 hot drink, a mince pie, or at least take part in the ginger bread making, but no... We paid £27.00 for an adult to stroke a guinea-pig. 😅
Anyway, we absolutely would not return to the enchanted Christmas and we were very disappointed with the day especially as it was so expensive! We love Hatton and are normally never disappointed. But this was a huge...
Read moreIf you can visit here on a weekday I highly recommend that you do, we took our 2 year old girl here and there was no queuing, we pretty much had everything to ourselves! It was just lovely, calm and care free. Having the opportunity to feed the animals was special to our little girl and at £1 for a tub of feed you can’t go wrong. She really loved the baby goats, they were adorable. All the animals looked like they had good welfare and seemed happy In their environment, they were all also very friendly. There was so much to do and play on from a variety of different slides, climbing frames, mining for gold in the water, bouncy castles & fair ground rides all outside. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much bother for them and they were happy to have a conversation with you. To finish off we went into the soft play which had a lot to offer for children of all ages - including some really scary looking slides, but it was all fun! My only reason for knocking a star was for various reasons one being parking charges which seemed a bit silly due to the prices of tickets anyway, you would think this would all be included and unfortunately we found the restaurant prices in the soft play to be quite extortionate too (£2.50 for a small bottle of coke!). 2, unfortunately if you want to use the bouncy castle and the small fair ground rides they only run at 2 certain times in the day and only for half an hour. Which is a real shame as I know my little girl could spend hours and hours on things like this! And lastly, we did also enquire about an annual membership but this would cost £100 each (including our little girl)! As lovely as the place is I think it’s best to save for a holiday at that price! Still wouldn’t hesitate to go again though as it is a lovely place...
Read moreA 5 stars from us!!! Never heard of this place until I began searching for Halloween events. It then showed up on every social media platform I was using....mainly Instagram I think! I booked online which was really simple. We booked the drive in cinema and pumpkin hollow. Myself husband and 11 year old were so excited as it was our first drive in cinema experience. It was chucking it down with rain on our night. On arrival staff where there to help and direct. The two ladies on duty on our evening did not stop, they were drenched but always smiled and were so so helpful. My car battery died I was panicking but they reissued me I wasn't the only one. They quickly got to work with providing us with headphones and then within 10 mins a gentleman arrived to restart my car! There was alot of disruption to our film unfortunately, we didn't complain but within a few days had been sent an email to apologise with free tickets for their Xmas events. Drive in cinema- had toilets, bar, pizza.....we had the pizza. Toilets had no electricity so just use your light on your mobile phone. Cars were positioned with lots of thought and asked to move if restricting. Pumpkin hollow was brilliant, Greek food on offer, live music, warm indoor seating, spooking cocktails, marshmallow roasting (£2.50 for 3 massive mellows on a stick) 2 camp fires to roast them on. Scary cabins were the best, ill admit I screamed twice and I'm not that jumpy. We all had such a good night. Price wise very very reasonable which is why we chose this venue in the first place. When compared to Warwick Castle and cattows Farm this came out way more affordable for us. Booked in Dec to visit again. Keep doing what your doing Hatton and I hope your prices always remain...
