Ordered take away and found a SNAIL IN THE CURRY! Not from the outside packaging but actually inside the food whilst we were eating. After being accused of lying about this (there is no way that this could have happened and they will have to check the cameras) the manager called to apologise and find out what had happened, she offered me a refund and a free take away or meal for two in the restaurant - I will obviously not be eating from this establishment and almost a month later have still not received my promised refund. They did come back to the address to collect the uneaten meal including the snail which I found odd - perhaps to hide the evidence? I also had some strange phone calls immediately after calling them to complain which when I picked up when to a voicemail system then after hanging up would automatically call back again - this again made me suspicious of what they could have just done with my telephone number. Either way I was served something potentially pathogenic that I absolutely did not order and did not receive my refund. The manager said that they have just renovated the restaurant/kitchens but I am concerned about their storage and how genuine/honest they are as a business. I’ve ordered from this place multiple times using Deliveroo, however I thought I would try ordering directly through their website so they got the full money as I really like their food. Their website allowed me to place a delivery, took payment and even sent me a confirmation email (photo attached) to say the order was accepted. I then receive a phone call 24 minutes later to tell me they’ve never had an order from my postcode before and it’s too far and was told I would either have to come collect or wait 3 days for a refund, I said this was unacceptable and was then asked for my long card number to get an instant refund through their card machine which I did not feel comfortable with.
