No longer owned — Restaurant in Wealden

Sadly, we attended Eastbourne on 24/6/22 as a result of a funeral. Travelling from London we thought we would stop off nearby for a leg stretch and a coffee/cake break restbite beforehand. As we drove through Polegate we saw a friendly, open space "eaterie" by the name of the Cherry Tree Eatery. As we parked up we also noticed a big Costa Coffee establishment on the opposite side of the road. We decided to support local businesses and went for the local shop. What a delight..! The staff were friendly, attentive and more than anything the sausage sandiwich(es), the gigantic ice bun and the capucchinos/hot chocolates were the right tonic to prepare us for the days events. It was a perfect "stop off" just to lubricate the lungs and a welcome stop off. To anyone passing through Polegate, from a completely independent non bias reviewer this was a fantastic place to visit....

I have eaten in this charming café on numerous occasions & have also ordered takeaway. I keep returning as I & my boyfriend really ❤️ Louise's homemade, delicious food at very competitive prices. Louise & Zoe are always very welcoming & friendly & their café is spotless. Apart from a great selection of breakfasts, light lunches, sandwiches, baps etc & scrummie homemade cakes. I come in for Louise's quiches, shepherds pie, chilli & her own version of ratatouille - tastes so much nicer to have homemade, rather than convenience foods. Visited this morning with my daughter for breakfast after dropping the car off in the nearby garage. The two ladies behind the counter were absolutely lovely, couldn't help enough and the food was pretty good and well priced. The only thing that put us off was the lady who I assume is the owner was sat on her phone talking loudly for the whole time we were there, we were the only customers there so we couldn't block it out.
