After an early morning walk with my dog high up on the Moor I stopped off in Princetown to use facilities and explore this small town. The toilets were clean and tidy, 20p to use. Car Park £3.00 for up to 3hrs. The visitor centre is definitely worth a visit, lots of information and helpful staff.

On my walk around the small town I noticed quite a few people heading into The Fox Tor Cafe and as I hadn't had breakfast and needed a drink I popped in. The cafe had a lively feel about it, tables were full and I received a warm welcome by the young lady behind the counter. I ordered a standard breakfast (bacon, egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes hash brown and toast with orange juice) all this for £9.75. Great value for money. I also ordered a cappuccino. The coffee arrived hot which is great (luke warm drinks is something I dislike) served by another member of staff, polite and friendly. The cafe was clean, tidy with local art work on the walls, cards and gifts to also buy and lots of information leaflets within the entrance area. The tables are well laid out, different sized tables depending on the size of your group with plenty of space between them. There is also an outside area with tables and chairs. Dog friendly - They allow dogs in the cafe, I saw 1 dog during my visit. It was very busy but not hectic, with a steady stream of customers. The staff were calm, organised obviously used to the pressures of a busy day. My breakfast then arrived. It looked and tasted great. It was hot, not greasy, egg was runny, the sausage and bacon sourced locally and the toast came from a farmhouse loaf rather than sliced bread. Although it was still busy I didn't feel rushed into leaving and once I had eaten my breakfast/drank my coffee I got up and gave my table to people patiently waiting. I left feeling full and satisfied, ready to walk up another tor. I would highly recommend this cafe to all for food and customer service. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm walking the Moor, thank you all for a great...

I'd booked this via email and paid a deposit, explicitly asking for a dedicated room for 2 people, with bedding. I'd also asked about breakfast and a packed lunch but got no response to that. We walked in to town at about 1900, the cafe was closed of course and no-one answered the phone or doorbell, but the room key was found in the open bunkhouse, along with bedding for ONE. There was no way to contact anyone so we made the best of it (one had the duvet, one had the cover, pillows made of outdoor seat cushions etc..). This was NOT an ideal nights sleep.||If I'd checked more thoroughly I'd have realised that the cafe didn't open until 0900 which is too late to start a long distance walk so 0800 we ate breakfast / bought lunch back at the Plume of Feathers (which I heartily recommend, and also has a bunkhouse!)||On the plus side, though the bunkhouse was very basic it was clean and nicely set up, with a kitchen / eating area and outside seating etc. I was disappointed that there were no power sockets in the room at all to charge phones, but...

Having recently moved to the local area we have visited Fox Tor Caf a couple of times now and it never dissappoints! They have plenty of vegan options for myself (including a Devon cream Tea - YUM!!). My partner and I had a lovely vegan breakfast there yesterday. Staff are very friendly and provide an excellent service. The location is also fab, being right in the middle of Princetown there are plenty of walks through the Moors on the doorstep. Would highly reccomend a visit :)

Our journey to the Eden Project took an unexpected, delightful detour when we stumbled upon this gem! Seeking a quick respite, we decided to indulge in their cream teas, and what a culinary experience! The scones were warm, fluffy, rich and velvety. Honestly, some of the absolute best we’ve ever had. For anyone seeking a taste of authentic Cornish perfection, this is an absolute must-stop.
