There were 8 of us who arrived at The Hayfield in Ormskirk. Thankfully, we had already booked a table, which was just on the left as you came into the pub. We were greeted by the manager (Jess?), who introduced herself and showed us to our table. 1 of us in our group had some form of dietary requirements. Jess explained that she'll be taking everyone's order at the bar, which isn't too far. We all decided what to have & went up to order. Excellent news - NHS/Blue Light Cards apply. 20% discount on foods & drinks. Food came & we all ate pleasantly. It was fairly busy. The TVs were on. The service, atmosphere, and food were excellent, so much so that we all had dessert, which was excellent as well. Thank you, Jess, and your team of staff. We hope, in the near future, to call in again in the near future....

Unfortunately I was too full after the ultimate burger to partake in the desserts but I watched on with envy as a nearby table took delivery of I've cream...
Read moreThe pub is lovely and the atmosphere is nice, the staff very helpful and friendly. The food was not great. A real shame actually and why I have given 3 stars. The chips where almost cold on both plates and the rest stodgy. It was busy so perhaps they simply were pushed for time but when your homemade coleslaw is thick mayonnaise with shredded cabbage (looked and tasted like Savoy) and onion. To be fair we were so hungry that we did not complain and I am sure if we had they would have replaced it but still.... It was £30 for 2 soft drinks (one was a bottle of sparkling water), a Guinness, 2 meals and a side. Would be good value if the...
