Turquaz Turkish BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in West Lancashire

The food was great. We ordered vegan/vegetarian and the combination of halumi fries, BBQ'ed veggies, salads, rice and this really tasty walnut dip was more than enough ... probably too much. Often I am disappointed with BBQ'ed veggies as you pay too much for a burnt mushroom and a seared tomato, not the case @ Turquaz where they had managed to get the flavour just right and there were lots of veggies. Worth mentioning that there was a little orzo in the rice and probably a few breadcrumbs on the halumi so if you are wheat/gluten free then ask before ordering, our bad for ordering when tired. Also I expect that the food is cooked on the same grill as meat, as this is for sure a place that caters to carnivores. This didn't bother us but it may bother you. We had takeout for pickup (they said 30 minutes but were ready in 25) and suggest if you want to eat in then book a table as the place was packed (it was about 9.30pm on...

Eat in Turkish restaurants regularly as its one of our favourites.

I had the Turquaz special which was lamb and chicken shish, lamb chop and Adana kebab. My wife had the chicken and lamb kebab.

The food was really tasty with succulent tender meat, rice and salad mix.

Would probably have given 5 stars, but this is the 1st Turkish restaurant I've been in where they don't bring complimentary pide bread. The kebabs also didn't have any form of wrap or bread which is unusual.

Would eat here again though if...

Firstly the positives, the food is always fabulous, fresh and despite always being busy there’s never a long wait to be served. The negatives are some of the front of house/waiters are incredibly miserable and make us feel like unwanted guests rather than welcomed ones. No smiles or pleasantries and quite abrupt. It has actually put me off going again despite the quality of food. It’s still a treat for me to eat out and some courtesy and a smile would go a long way when spending my hard earned cash.
