10 Sep. 2024 Update ...

We've just finished another superb breakfast here at the Court Leet and felt the urge to leave another positive review. Delighted to see Sue doing the rounds again. Fussing over all the customers, as usual, tables sparkling clean, a friendly overall ambience - despite a dreary day outside.

Management, please take note: - Every time we visit and Sue is here, the atmosphere goes up a notch! The place just feels different in a positive way ... Loves her job and makes everyone feel special, nothing is too much trouble, bless her (and no, it's not just because she gave us an extra couple of butter sachets!).

Another excellent meal at the Court Leet last week. Served by Louie (Bar) and Sue (food), both super friendly and polite, with food exactly as ordered... 5/5 stars.

My only criticism is that you usually have to ask for tables to be cleaned and once got refused by a young lass who was "too busy ... You'll have to find a clean table...!" (unquote).

That aside, always great value at JDW throughout the UK. Highly recommended.

UPDATED REVIEW (04.05.22) * Special thanks and acknowledgement should go to Sue (Briggs?) who served us again today for the third time this year... Always got a smile on her face, super chatty and friendly and nothing is too much trouble,...

Usually I would give more stars, however post covid standards have slipped. I understand times are difficult with covid and social distancing etc. I'll explain... It was easy enough to find a table; even though it was lovely weather the top open seating was closed. The order process was easy enough, we used the app but again we had a slight issue because the table number had been wiped off, no biggie we just asked a member of staff the number, he hazard a guess so we used the number suggested. What the lack of numbers did mean is that staff seemed to be wondering around with food a drinks a little bit lost. We had to signal that it was our food and be honest and say the cocktails weren't ours when they got brought over. Food was served in a decent amount of time and the standard was up with the usual pre covid 'spoons standard, never had an issue on that front. Again, however there is a but... When we went to collect condiments we found a very small array I'd options: No vinegar, no Mayo, very little mustard. To put it short if you only wanted salt and ketchup you'd have been fine. Conclusion, we wouldn't rush back to wetherspoons in the near future until it is all hopeful back to precovid levels of all...

Been here a few times. Usually a good experience, but not tonight. I ordered at the bar, 3 for ten on starters and two steaks. The starters arrived cold and the steaks arrived 5 mins after the starters. When I explained that the steaks were supposed to be as a main and we didn't want them yet the waitress just kinda looked at me. Eventually she took the steaks away just to put them on the pass. We then finished our starters and our plates didn't get cleared. The steaks then turned up and the waitress still didn't clear the plates, I had to clear them myself! My steak was stone cold (probably due to being left underneath the pass for 20 minutes) I went and found the waitress to let her know my concerns and she told me she'd come to sort it out, she never. I had to go to the bar myself to resolve the issue. The manager was very understanding and ordered a replacement meal for myself and personally checked back on this meal.

I work in a restaurant myself and I understand it can be tough when short staffed, but with a little more staff training, the customer service could...

This place was so disappointing and it was my first visit here,It was very busy, but there clearly wasn't enough staff to meet the demand of customers, there were filthy tables and the glass drop off station was horrendous there was stacks and stacks of glasses in the actual window drop off then 2 full wheeled trollies full of glasses and dirty plates and cutlery,The lady behind the bar (a manager ) was quite rude and I over heard a few other customers say the same !!!! The most organised place was the kitchen, where the food was being prepared and sent quickly and was very nice .The cutlery we received was filthy, and we were not instructed as to where we could obtain any condiments. There was also no courtesy check done on our meals .As a whole, with the right amount of staff and organisation, this would be a great place to visit again ,I will definitely give it another chance, but I hope there are improvements made for the future.

My 2nd review.. 1st was 4 years ago. Friday afternoon, busy but not too busy. Served straight away at the bar by friendly bar staff. Other orders via the app were delivered to my table in a couple of minutes (which was spotless when I sat at it) Empty gasses were cleared regularly. Ordered food...came about 5 mins later. Chips were warm (still nice) but everything else was hot, fresh and tasted great (burger/drink meal deal) Say what you will about Spoons (or this one is particular) but I can't fault it, at all. Well done to everyone on duty today Drinking my late dad's fave beer today. Won't be the last time either, well kept, well served and at this price, definitely can't complain!

God awful food, even by Wetherspoons Standards, half a handful of chips and a burnt crispy lasagna. To add insult to injury you get the generic “Is everything okay with your food?” And you actually decide for once to tell them that it’s awful and they shrug at you and don’t give a toss anyway, what was even the point of asking? I took the picture of the lasagna to remind myself of the terrible quality, incase I try to convince myself this place is worth visiting again. Maghull Wetherspoons is virtually the same distance if you’re coming from out of town and isn’t the most abysmal Wetherspoons of your life.
