Tesco Cafe — Restaurant in West Suffolk

Coerced by the smell of bacon I was led by my grumbling tummy to the digital ordering menu. My level of hungriness led me to order 2 large English breakfasts, one for myself and one for my good lady wife accompanied by two pots of tea. We made our way to a table by the window the top of which looked like the aftermath of the battle of the Somme, I went to the counter and informed the young lady of my discovery and was handed a damp ‘J’ cloth. I walked away clutching my blue and white striped cleaning ephemera and set about my domestic duties, half way through a young assistant came over and apologised profusely for the tardiness of the table, apology accepted. After a while 2 pots of tescos finest tea arrived and I waited with hungry anticipation for my breakfast, after which seemed like an eternity and a brief phone conversation with Bob Geldoff asking if I wanted him to bring out a charity single Called feed the coleseyboy my breakfast finally arrived. The toast and I use the term toast loosely, can only be described as suffering from severe anemia as it was only slightly tanned, the hash browns were more akin to soggy mashed potatoes and the 2 sausages I’m more than sure could have been revived by a good vetinerian. Really...

Unfortunately I have to agree with most of the other reviews.

The restaurant is dirty, seats and tables had spills, stains and crumbs on them.

My Americano coffee was weak and watery. Costing £3.00.

My breakfast was mainly cold. In fact it was all cold, apart from the lukewarm beans. Even the toast was cold.

The food came out within minutes of me sitting down. It looked really nice. If it was hot maybe it would be worth the £8.95.

Even the sauce bottles were dirty.

Tescos is such a large business, so expected more.

Wouldn’t have another breakfast there again unfortunately.

Tesco - Read the reviews and do something to improve Newmarkets Cafe.

Not seen any responses from Tesco on any reviews. Clearly the customers opinions count...

I have placed an order on the machine and waited for a receipt. However the machine wasn't printing the receipt. So I went to talk to the lady who was making a tea. So I have explained and she was very rude, she just looked at me and said, "yes it won't printed" No explanation why or sorry! So I went to the table and the table chair was dirty with old spillage, so I took my wet wipes to clean it. I asked my daughter to bring some tissue that I can dry the chair, the same lady told to my daughter that this is a tissue what suppose go with your food! So you won't get any tissue with your food!!! I m speechless! There is no customer service here...
