Don Pino — Restaurant in Wigan

Really disappointed with this place. I truly wanted it to be good because it's local. What can I say. The high rating mystifies me. The food is bland at best. A competent cook can prepare better at home. We ordered an onion and tomato side salad and it literally was a few chunks of badly cut tomato and onion that looked like it had been cut with a blunt knife. My wife had a black pudding starter that was a slice of black pudding with some luke warm cream poured over it. She had a seafood pasta that looked like it had crab sticks in it. I had ribs that were chewy when they should(or do elsewhere) fall off the bone and an underwhelming carbonara that I sincerely can make better myself but was OK. Service was fine, and that's it....

A genuine taste of real, homecooked Italian food. Don't expect a glamorous setting, just an authentic reminder of old restaurants that exist in Naples. The food is great, pasta and pizza dishes always popular. But, there is always a specials board as well. The food is very reasonably priced and portions are substantial. You know it is traditional when you hear the chef and waiter talking to one another in Italian.... Always enjoy it...
