PURPLE NAAN — Restaurant in Wigan

The lady who greeted us was very friendly and gave us a choice of where we wanted to sit. It was 7pm on a Friday and the restaurant was very quiet. The lady quickly brought us the menus and informed us that the only draft beer they had was Stella. She then left us to view the menus. After a few minutes a waiter came to take our oder. He seemed very nervous was very quietly spoke. I ordered the Chicken Goan Curry (£12.95) and my partner ordered the Chicken Punjabi Sytle (£11.50). Plain rice (£2.50), Garlic Naan (£2.75) and a Peshwari Naan (£3.50). To drink I opted for a large bottle of Cobra (£5.45) and my partner ordered a small Coke (£2.75). When the drinks came the Coke for small was rather large. At the end of the evening the bill showed a pint of Pepsi. This wasn't a big issue as I like Pepsi and finished my partners drink off. Both curry's had plenty of chicken in them and the sauces were superb. The naan breads were as good if not better than any of the best curry houses we have eaten in. The music in the restaurant was not too loud, however it was not to our liking. It sounded like popular english music with an Indian influence. We would rather just have Indian music like most other Indian restaurants we have visited. Having really enjoyed our meal we were just finishing off our drinks when a table close by became occupied. Unfortunately this group could not structure a sentence together without swearing. Obviously not the restaurants fault, however it was now time to leave. We will be visiting again as the food...

I had an incredible dining experience at Purple Naan in Leigh! From start to finish, the food was absolutely amazing. For starters, I enjoyed the flavorful Chicken Tikka, tender Lamb Chop, and crispy Onion Bhaji — each bursting with authentic spices. For mains, the Lamb Patia, Honey Chicken Sizzler, Beef Manchurian Sizzler, Pillau Rice, Garlic Naan Bread, and Chicken Tikka Masala with rice were all cooked to perfection with rich, vibrant flavors that left me craving more. The food quality was top-notch, and the generous portions were a real treat. On top of that, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place to enjoy a memorable meal. Right, as a local guide,I am picky! No booking necessary, warm welcome! Decor tired but honest! I wasn't there to be dazzled by the environment! , popadom and Chutney tray to start, with us promptly, while we picked our starters, delicious, I had salt and pepper squid, come on guys! Nice but v small portion. My friends all received there's looked delicious and apparently was! From then on, I honestly enjoyed the starter,main ,atmosphere, great polite service, probably one of the nicest chicken madras I've had in a long time, out of 10, a strong 9, and that's for food service and atmosphere, all ready looking forward to my next visit.
