Robin Hood — Restaurant in Wigan

Food was satisfactory but even with pre ordered meals and the booking was for 30 people, the service was extremely slow. We sat down for 6.30 and our starters only started to be served at 7.20 main meals were only beginning to be served at 8.20m. We had a mixture of children and grandparents attending and unfortunately the service let them down badly. A few of the family members had to leave before they got served due to the child needing his tea. Complaint was made but basically shrugged off. The staff serving the customers outside are very helpful, and polite, unlike the bar staff. If you dare to step off the carpet, which is on the path to the gents toilets; expect to be spoken to, like your a very low form of life! The male concerned was, extremely abrupt, rude, barked out orders, and is in the wrong job. He then expects you to be civil to him. Their policies are not clear, and nothing is displayed at the entrance of the pub (to inform you of this problem area). It felt like Fawlty Towers, with Basil behind the bar. Make your own...

What can I say shocking food tonight. Been coming here for four years and never had to complain. It's our little escape from busy working lives. Tonight I sent my first meal back because it was over cooked and inedible. The second meal was under seasoned and desperately lacked a touch of finesse. The staff were fab as always but I just get the distinct feeling there is a lack of love surrounding food prep and service. Come on guys please please...
