The Cherry Gardens Hotel — Restaurant in Wigan

Visited on Saturday to meet up with mates watching the Rugby final. I was at the bar for over 20 mins and gave up trying to get served. Two staff serving and one glass collecting.

I accept it was busy but staff were just serving out of order, people coming to the bar and getting served within minutes (maybe regulars). Friends also went home at half time as couldn’t get served.

I’ve been to the pub on much busier occasions in the past and it was never this bad.

Hope the bar does well with new owners as great location and seems a nice bar. Plenty of TV’s, live sports, good sized car park and good pool table.

Would just avoid on major events if you want a drink as they don’t have enough staff on to...

We came as a group of 5 around 6.40pm and managed to order food just in time. We had a mix of items including Gammon, steak and ale pie and chicken burgers. Everyone loved the food, it was really delicious. Really good prices too for the portion sizes and it didn't taste like your usual frozen stuff that a lot of pubs do these days. Really good stuff.

We didn't realise it was quiz night so stayed for the quiz and had a good laugh doing that.

Its really nicely decorated inside and they are currently undergoing refurb of some other parts but it didn't impact our visit at all.

When I first arrived at the Cherry Gardens, I felt a warm vibe as I walked through the doors. The ambience in the pub is fantastic, and has obviously been under new management over the last couple of years as the interior has been modernised but still continues to portray the pub as it's former glory. The food in the pub was delicious, and it felt as if I was in a 5 star restaurant but with a homely vibe. The staff were pleasant, and I would definitely recommend people to visit the pub! As you can probably imagine, I will definitely be visiting...
