The Imperial Court — Restaurant in Wigan

This is the letter I left on their website

On Wednesday, October 17th, my friend and I came in about 9:30 pm to eat.

First, when we walked in the lady behind the counter did not seat us - she said "You sit at table by window" and gestured.

Second, we had to ASK for menus. This interrupted her conversation with some guy drinking a pint on the seat by the counter. During the evening she spent the majority of time talking with the guy drinking and extremely little time with the other customers.

We ordered Green Thai Curry, Red Thai Curry, boiled rice, water. The green thai curry arrived first with the rice. BTW, horrible value on the rice. Four pounds for a small bowl of rice - ridiculous! The red thai curry arrived about 3 minutes later.

The red thai curry was NASTY! BAD! DISGUSTING! No, not hot, it was FOUL TASTING!

I tried the green thai curry and it was just as bad in my opinion by my friend liked it. He tried the red thai curry and agreed that it was nasty.

When we informed the lady behind the counter she tried to claim that it was difference in customer's tastes.

I managed to force down about 3 small bites of the red thai curry.

Should I be grateful that the lady behind the counter tore herself away from her conversation with the guy long enough to come over and ask if we were finished? We had to go up to the counter to ask for the check. And yes, I was UPSET by the time that I went up to the counter - bad service, bad food and a rude waitress.

This is without a doubt the WORST dining experience I have ever had in my 45 years of being on this planet. The service was poor at best. Her attitude was crap. The food was disgusting.

I attempted to call when I got back to my hotel and asked to speak to the manager - the lady behind the counter answered - I recognized her voice. She claimed to be the manager. I essentially said what I did here for what good it will do.

In the USA, when a customer is this disgusted with a meal usually something else is offered or the customer is not charged. The staff does not go "Oh, it is just a difference in taste." Not that I would have eaten anything else - after two nasty curries I have no desire to try anything else!

Again, this was a HORRIBLE experience, NASTY food, POOR SERVICE!

And, the bill was 21.80 pounds. RIDICULOUS!

I am disgusted. Not to mention, I am sick to my stomach.

Also, that was NOT red thai curry - I make red Thai Curry at home and that was NOT red thai curry.

Got mum suppose to be chicken water chestnuts and did not want bamboo shoots.but they had put them in anyway and the amount in the tub it was only 1/4 full there was only 2 pcs chicken and she had it with what suppose to be egg fried rice. It was terrible.for the price. I Had I thought chicken balls in sweet and sour sauce. When I saw tub it just lined bottom of it and was given sweet and sour chicken and not the chicken balls. This cost me £16 pound which I though was expensive for the amount and quality of the food we received will stick to the normal takeaway who understand...

Ordered a takeaway for 6.30pm, wasn't ready and had to wait a further 15 minutes. I paid cash and just put the change away, I didn't check my change. Got home with my food and realised items were missing. I then checked my I realise I was £10 short. So I drove back to get my £10 and to let them know I was missing items. Didn't seem bothered about the missing items or they short changed me or the inconvenience of me driving back 15 minutes on my family was sat down eating the evening...
