Further to my earlier review:- Decided to take dog for a short walk around the lakes on BH Monday. Checked website for Bridge Deck and saw that it was open on BHs from 1000-1500. Arrived at the cafe at 1350 to be told that they were closing in ten minutes.
Please can you have some consistency to your opening hours. I know that it can be quiet at the end of the day/staff want to get home but if you are going to run a business and have set opening hours then you need to stick to them. Rapidly losing faith in this lovely little establishment, it’s always given the best coffee around, friendly staff and a reasonable selection of food but the other, newer, cafe 5 minutes walk away appears to be taking a lot of customers away. Hate having to give reviews like this but need to let others know that they may be disappointed if the Bridge Deck decides to shut up shop early.
Previous post:-
On three occasions, always Saturdays, we have called at the Bridge Deck to have a coffee and possibly a snack after walking our dog. The cafe is supposed to be open until 3pm but yet again today it was closed (2.05pm) and there was no note in any window to explain why this was the case. Please if you have a staff shortage, sickness or other reason for not opening then let your customers know. We were not the only people arriving for coffee - you will rapidly lose trade. The Bridge Deck is a lovely place to visit, the staff are really friendly and it’s always been our favourite spot after walking the dog. If you want to retain your customers then you must either open when shown or tell us why...
Read moreWe go here a lot, especially at weekends combined with a dog walk. The breakfast bap and coffee deal for £5 is really good. Service usually excellent and very dog friendly. Went on 30th Dec, ordered a coffee and breakfast bap to eat in plus a winter warmer soup and toast which looked great. The coffee and bap arrived quickly but no soup, without wanting it to get cold my husband ate his. A good 20 mins later, maybe longer, still waiting for soup and had to get home so asked if it could be a takeaway which they did. Got home to find a small coffee cup not even half full of soup plus stone cold rubbery sough dough toast. Hopefully just a one off as they are usually really good. Never known them take so long over an order and such a tiny portion of soup was ridiculous. Ok it's only £4 but if that was served in a bowl it would barely cover the...
Read moreWhat a gem. Staff were friendly and prices very good - £5.00 for a bacon butties and a latte, beat that! And yes, it is a NAAFI (Armed Forces owned with a " not for profit" outlook). Lovely setting inside and out, plenty of room, great views - only the aggressive Swan gave any cause for concern, but it never bothered us as it didn't bother leaving the water in front of the venue ....... And dog friendly too. We're going again tomorrow as the walks around the area are safe for children and dogs and everywhere was clean and tidy - shipshape, just like ig...
