A completely new menu. It is now part of a chain called Stake House. There is excellant disabled facilities not only for walking with an aid, but also wheelchair disabled. The entrance is a gentle slop into the bar. There is a good range of Beers on draught but limited Real ales. I tried the over 60's special you can have Two or three, courses. I tried the three course for £5.90. Garlic mushroom starter with a small salad garnish. The alternative was Tomato soup. The main course selected was cajian chicken strips acompanied with a salad and I substituted more salad for the chips. The third course selected was home made Apple pie in my case with vanilia ice cream as I do not like custard. The portions are adequate , smaller than on the main menu. The service was excellant, and a friendly young lady bringing the courses out in a timely manner as well as serving drinks behind the two bars, one in the spacious lounge , the other in the smaller bar which also contains a removable small English pool table. She also served at least 4 couples with their food in the lounge. The decour is a little dated but well presented and spotless. They have entertainment an Adel tribute Friday Night. A Group on Saturday next. There is At leastTwo Security men on the entrances. Unfortunately they shut the disabled bar entrance at about 2200hrs. There is a disabled handle to help descending the two steps of the lounge entrance. The one disabled toilet is by the bar entranceand there are well maitained and clean both mens and ladies toilet facilities in both the Bar and Lounge. There is both a garden sitting area in the back and 6 four people benches in the front. I Would give it 8 out of ten for both facilities and staff. It is under new management and actually the main excellant lady cook under the previous Management has taken over the establishment..There are at least 7 TV's and a large projection type TV for Sports watching in the lounge and Two in the smaller Bar.There is good on site parkingfor about 20 cars and on side street parking for about 10 more cars if needed when a popular Group are on. I have seen at least 5 ladies serving behind the bar in these circumstances. My one main complaint Is the very poor Wify. You log onto the cloud which gives an unsecure wify which I have to tell my Samsung tablet E ignor and allow. Only to find there is no I repeat NO INTERNET CONNECTION. I am a bit of a 67 year old techniephob. The tablet just says it is a AP...
Read moreAwful pub Staff are extremely rude, long blonde haired woman in her 30s in particular. We arrived here on Sunday at 6:45 and was told food was still on and we had until 7pm to order. After having a quick look at the menu we went over to the bar at 6:50, nobody come to us until 6:55. We were placing our order with a polite young lad who told us it was ok to order still and we also apologised for it being last minute. Then the snotty girl who walked out the kitchen seen us stood ordering with a menu in our hands and said “kitchen is closed now” we explained to her we’d been told it was ok to order still and it wasn’t 7pm yet to which she ignored. Told the lad off who served us and cowardly got him to tell us that we were unable to eat. My friend is 6 months pregnant and we were getting together for a celebration with a group of people but had been stuck in traffic travelling. We were the only ones unable to eat and we then cancelled ordering a whole round of drinks due to this awful lady’s attitude and decided to not buy anything at all whilst we were there. We sat with our friends for an hour and watched people bring food out for a good half hour afterwards! Definitely won’t be returning here and neither will many of our family and friends due to one...
Read moreWe were so happy to this place re open aftert it's refurbishment as it is now a lovely welcoming place to come and it's great to have a local within walking distance again!
Staff are always very friendly and welcoming with good banter. Food is good pub grub and the 2 smaller meals for £14.99 is great value for money, though we have noticed the potion size vary (see pics of fish and chips). Only thing that dropped a star is the starters, they are a little over priced considering the size, still tasty though.
Good selection of beer which is always a winner and can highly recommend a Camden Pale or Beaverton. We will be back again and...
