Le Flamme — Restaurant in Wolverhampton

07/02/23 Brilliant! I've lived in the area a year and couldn't find anywhere that knew how to grill a chicken without cremating it, Nandos Dudley was my first experience 🤮 never again. I've been using Perifino since, with a very hit and miss satisfaction rate. I phoned in and collected my whole chicken meal with 4 sides. Good portions and great value at a little over £20. The place is well fitted out with a very attractive casual eat-in area and crucially, it's very clean. It looks a very professionally run kitchen, you can see it from the restaurant area, it's well organised and all the staff were busy, usually the sign of a successful restaurant given this is a Tuesday night at 10.25, 5 minutes before closing time. Muhammed, the owner served me, he's a very welcoming host and on realising this was my first visit he confidently asked me to leave a review, even if it were negative. I don't usually bother leaving bad reviews, I just don't return, but I promised I'd give my honest review no matter what. However, I'm delighted to say every aspect of this meal was a 10/10. Skin on fries crisp and freshly cooked, 2 side salads that were crisp and fresh Italian style leaves with pepper, tomato, feta and a little dressing, and a high quality coleslaw. But the star of the show was that perfect "just cooked" super moist chicken, spectacular! I must remind you, 5 minutes before closing time and it's the quality you'd expect at opening time. I can't speak for the rest of the menu yet, but if Muhammed's grilled lamb is as tender, juicy and delicious as the chicken, I'm going to be a very happy customer. A thoroughly pleasant dining experience. The woman behind the till who took our order and served us conducted herself in a very professional, courteous and polite manner and made us feel welcome and taken good care of. That extends to all staff who genuinely seemed like they enjoyed being there and had an air of friendliness about them. The food was absolutely phenomenal and matched the stellar service that we were provided. Prices were also very very reasonable and the taste was deep, rich and complex as you were blown away from the flavours as they hit your palette. This place definitely blows Pepes and Nando’s clean out of the water and is an underrated gem in Wolverhampton. Truly meets the definition of slept on- an 11/10 experience.

With regards to the portion size that someone wrote about below I did not find this to be the case as it was quite large and we were all left feeling thoroughly...

We have just eaten at Le Flamme and we were not disappointed. We ordered a mixed platter with 2 sides of flaming fries, Mediterranean salad, mozzarella sticks and garlic bread, the portion was plenty enough for 4 people, we all left feeling full. The quality of the meat was absolutely phenomenal. There were lots of meat on the lamb and the chicken wings which you don't normally get from other places. The chicken breast strips were really tender and the sauces had a lovely flavour. Everything tastes amazing. we will definitely be visiting again. The staff were lovely and so hospitable. The price was brilliant for the portion sizes and the quality. I cannot recommend this place enough. A great evening out with amazing food...
