Penn Chippy — Restaurant in Wolverhampton

This is my regular chip shop and food is always fresh and delicious. I have always had good experiences with customer service however yesterday there was a new lady taking orders and I have had a bad experience. Firstly I noticed she short charged her friend who came in and only got the full amount when the customer said it seemed quite cheap. Then I ordered my large cod as usual but also ordered a portion of chips for my vegetarian Sikh grandmother. The fish is cooked fresh and I was told it would be done in 8 minutes. During this time I went to my car to make a phone call. When I returned the lady had put the chips along with the fish in the same packaging. I explained that I always have them separate as I have family members who are vegetarian. The lady then proceeded to try and separate them and then make me take them. This shows clear lack of regard for people and their differing diet requirements and I found it quite disrespectful to expect a religious vegetarian to eat chips that had been in contact with fish. I was made to feel uncomfortable for requesting a fresh batch of chips and embarrassed in front of the other customers. I wasn’t even offered an apology but made to feel that I the customer needed to apologise profusely as if it was my fault. I then had to wait another 10 minutes for another fish so it took about 30 minutes just to get a large cod and small chips. Ordered through just eat. When my order arrived i was missing some of my order. I rang them and was told I would receive it when they deliver around my street. I waited 1 hour an 45 minutes and called them again as I still hadn't recieved my food. They didn't answer! I'm absolutely disgusted with the extremely poor service provided. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anybody.

In response to the owners response........ I do not have a bell on my back gate so your drivers must have tried delivering the rest of my order to the wrong address. Why didn't they come to the front door like they did when they first delivered my part order? Sounds to me like your trying to...

Used to be the best chippy in Wolverhampton. Portions are pathetic since they won an award. Chips literally counted on to the tray and always undercooked. Hope they get back to what they were a couple years ago

I realise you don't give away free food, quite the opposite as I've had an instance where I ordered 5 kebabs and only received 4, where the salad to meat ratio was quite high (guess salad is free).
