Went in for an evening buffet on a Sunday. Quieter than I was expecting. All in all, the food was good. Nothing exceptional except perhaps the kids waffles and freshly cooked pancakes. Nothing particularly poor either, except maybe the shrivelled prawn toast. Everything tasted good. A decent range of Chinese food in particular. Vegetarian options were also good too. Not sure if Karaoke is suspended on Sundays. The closest we got to that was the ‘Happy Birthday’ sing-a-long. Chinese and Indian food, a fair number of traditional deserts including a chocolate fountain and individual pots of ice cream. Serving platforms easily accessible by the member of the group in a wheelchair. Really friendly staff. Bar man /receptionist, waiters and others. Lovely decor, though a bit tired in places, such as the stairs up to the toilets. A small section of food for kids - much healthier and educational if they try some of the Chinese food of course. The only real downside for me was the lack of anyone on the teppanyaki stand. It might have been that you could ask for it. I should have clarified that I guess - though there was no indication that it was operational. As with most eating out these days, the prices seem a bit much for the quality - but I guess that’s the same pretty much everywhere. I think kids can eat for free on weekdays after 5pm? Might be a consideration- though you probably can’t just dump them there after school - you have to dine in as well LOL😀

Possibly the worst buffet experience I have had.. I just want to state that this does no reflect the other Ming moon restaurants as I can attest to the high quality of the food and service provided. So firstly my partner booked the restaurant days in advance informing them that we have a special needs child... when we arrived we got seated in an area surrounded by loud families with children running around, knocking into you as you returned to your table... we were also sat next to a broom and a waste bin, let me just say that there is nothing more apetitising than smelling other peoples food waste and being greeted by the scraping and banging of peoples food waste as it is disposed off... so if you want to spend full price for all of the above.. well ming moon wolverhampton can provide the service . My partner tried to approach the manager who pretty much disregarded our complaint only to just move the bin.. and I have tried contacting them via email to no success. Over all the service and customer service is disgusting and no matter how nice the food is... the service leaves it tasting as bad as your experience.

We have been to the Birmingham Ming Moon many times, which we love. As we live in Telford, getting to Wolves is quick so thought we would try this one. We rang up to book and told not to bother, just show up. Big mistake, always book. Anyway, the woman sorting out tables was professional and within 15 minutes we were seated. The decor is not as glam as The Brum Ming Moon but it's pleasant. The staff were quick and efficient but not very friendly which is a shame, it felt like they had been told not to engage with the clientele. Onto the food, so much to choose from, from sushi, Chinese of course, Indian, tepinyaki, pizza crêpes, absolutely something for everyone and all delicious. All sorts of puddings to choose from including a chocolate fountain. There is fresh fruit, ice-cream and assorted cakes and mousse. All in all, we enjoyed everything and ate too much. Make sure you book and fill your boots.

It is a shame to have given such a poor rating for this restaurant being as the food was delicious and the wide selection is great to have. However, this restaurant has a long way to come in terms of service.

This restauarant takes bookings reservations via telephone however it is pointless to do so. The booking system is merely a headcount for the restaurant and does not guaruntee seating for you and your party upon arrival. After continuously telling staff I had booked a table, they do not ask for a name, simply how many will be dining, therefore ignoring I had made a reservation. I had waited 50 minutes for a table of 6 which i had "reserved", which may I add was empty the entire time I had waited.

Clearly there is a lacking of organisation and the restaurant is potentially understaffed. I will be visiting again this weekend to see if there is a more positive change in service and as such may alter the review I have given. I am sure this restaurant has great potential being as the food is great, however overall it was a negative experience service-wise.

EDIT: I visited again 27/01/19. The only thing going for this place is the food. The staff struggle to keep customers satisfied. I enjoyed myself with friends and the food was average. However, the staff were getting continuous complaints from customers. I even witnessed one of the head staff members get confronted by an agitated customer being as the member of staff was verbally vulgar and rude to the customer's partner.

Some of the young members of staff are clearly unhappy to be working here; I can tell, I used to work at an all you can eat buffet. It is hard work and they are payed very little, so I can understand the difficulty they face. They are not paid actors therefore I wouldn't bet on seeing a smile, they are far too miserable.

I would like to see improvements, however I'm not too sure the management would be willing to pursue this. The staff are recyclable, and the restaurant makes enough profit to stay a viable business.

As a whole, if you have never been here before it is at least worth trying for yourself. The food will always be of an average standard and there is enough to choose...

I’ve been a very longstanding customer of Ming Moon, ever since they opened in Wolverhampton and traded as Wah Hing! I love their food, eating in restaurant and takeaway. Recently, I’ve had food delivered to me, but on a couple of occasions they cancelled my orders and when I queried, their answer was that they did not have delivery drivers! I find this totally unacceptable as they advertise delivery service and on that basis I place my order!

On the last occasion, I went to collect my order at the stated time (I was the only customer at the time), I noticed a food bag on the bar counter, a female staff checked and told me it was someone else’s order even though I showed her my order number in my mobile! I did not believe her, then I asked a male staff (who looked like a senior member of staff) also showing him my order number but he too said it was someone else’s order!

I waited about 20 minutes, then I asked another female staff to check properly, she did and admitted it was my order and I collected! They wanted to charge me £1 for some chilli oil, which should have been complimentary as it is when we eat at the buffet tables! The non Chinese members of staff did not seem well trained in customer service like the previous Chinese staff were! I therefore urge the senior managers to investigate this as soon as possible and replace the staff to make the service customer friendly and customer oriented! I’d hate to boycott the restaurant for this easily...
