Came today with my family, all seated deciding what to eat then went to place our order one member wanted a little make your own breakfast (2sos, 2bacon, 2 hash browns beans toast) when I started to tell the woman serving she wrote the first 2 items down then said.. oh we don't do a make your own!! I was surprised at this as we've ate here before and never had this problem. Not everyone likes all the items on a traditional breakfast I.e black pudding, mushrooms/tomatoes so why can't you decide what you want? Totally put us off so left. Ashame really as it was a nice cafe I think this should be an option I totally understand the 'swapping items off a traditional breakfast' not being allowed but I was asking for these items not...
Read moreAs a biker I tend to end up in roadside cafes quite a lot! I once spent 8 days just travelling from biker cafe to biker cafe all over England (they were convenient pit-stops...but yes...I should probably reconsider aspects of my life :D ).
I had breakfast here today - I was the last order of the day. As a former chef I can tell you that will go one of two ways - excellent or awful - rarely anything in-between. This. Was. Excellent. There wasn't a single thing on that plate that wasn't cooked perfectly. Good cup of tea too. If was going to be REALLY picky I would have liked less juice in the cooked tomatoes (personal preference) and a bigger mug for the tea.
But I will definitely be stopping...

So I drove down, got to the till and the blonde lady that was there decided to turn around and walk of before even acknowledging me. After I minute had gone I popped my head over the counter to see where she was and she was out the back having a conversation. When she saw me looking she came back to the till. However once again no acknowledgement she grabbed some coffee syrup and turned her back on me. At that point I left and will not be returning...
