Big minuses: Restrooms The toilet and the sink don't flush out the content. We found the roll of toilet paper in the bathroom almost finished. Menu The breakfast was poor and boring. Despite the apparently "richness" of the dinner offer, in fact there were little choices for the main courses. More, on each and every dinner, there were meals unavailable even they were pictured on the menu's cover. That's not OK at all. In the last evening, one of us asked for a meal. The waitress came back after 5 minutes to inform him that his meal is not available. The guy chose another meal only to be informed that it was not available, too. But that was not all: he asked for his favourite ale but only to be informed that it was finished! That was a deceiving experience for all of us: instead of having a nice and pleasant dinner, all of us end it up unhappy. So pity. Info We didn't knew that they are closing the restaurant around 10-11PM. We stayed later in the night in the backyard. They announce us that they will close the restaurant and we said OK, no problem. We thought they will end the service, not physically locking the doors. At 3AM we found out we cannot enter the inn to go to sleep. We had to call and wake up one of the persons from our group, to come and open the doors for us. The next day, after we denounced the situation, they told us that actually there were a "secret" door that would offer us access to our rooms by entering a code. But none of them told that before to us. Such an embarrassing situation. Bottom line, there's a lot of alternatives that offer more or less the same pluses in the Cotswolds region as Marston's does. But it would be difficult for any of them to "achieve" the three big minuses, all together in the same time.
Pluses: good location as an exploration base of the Cotswolds region decent looking inn (pub & rooms) personnel's nice attitude room decent...
Read moreI was appalled yesterday afternoon that the gravy with an under 5s sausage and mash potato meal was hot enough to cause a scald and blister my 2 year olds son fingers in seconds.
I reported it to a lady who said she was the âduty managerâ who showed no empathy whatsoever and simply said by law all childrenâs food has to be served at 75 degrees and made us wait at the bar for a long period of time whilst she attempted to work the computer.
The law actually states it should be heated to 75 degrees and kept above 63 degrees for all childrenâs meals and I strongly suggest something needs to change so that this incident or something worse doesnât happen again.
To add insult to injury, no first aid advice or help other than providing a glass of ice which (we asked for ourselves) was given including no access to a proper running tap for vital first aid was provided. The toilet in the ladies you need to press on repeatedly to get the water to continue which adds another level of difficulty with an upset toddler!
The irony of the whole matter was that my friend's adult meal came out cold and her daughterâs under 5s pasta meal was cold enough to immediately eat so the law for some items obviously isnât being followed.
Please consider changing your policies and providing your staff with appropriate knowledge if similar incidents were to happen again or even suggesting to your staff saying âIâm sorry this has happened to you how can I help?â...
Read moreThe Crown Wychbold today we visited for a quiet lunch myself and my husband, we sat at the end of the bar in the corner near the toilets. Our meals and drinks were fine, nothing exceptional but ok, whilst chatting during our meal I noticed the chef come out the kitchen we acknowledged each other as he had to pass us and noted he went into the gents, I commented to hubby that he came out the kitchen with his blue gloves on , to this I was fuming đ¤ good hygiene ? Leaving a kitchen environment with gloves on hands all over the doors and the bar as he walked passed into the toilets, so camera at the ready hoping he would come out the toilets without gloves, how wrong so snapped a photo as I was horrified and knew it would get denied, please also check your cameras, straight back into the kitchen wearing same gloves, to think this male chef used his Hands to toilet then proceeded to the kitchen to continue working, absolutely shocking đł Regardless of if he says he changed his gloves in the kitchen this is against all food hygiene. Watching this we refused puddings , approached the poor young girl acting manager, told her and she proceeded to tell me she would have to try and have a word, I also explained our quick exit. Absolutely Discusting Behaviour and cleanliness at its worst, there is absolutly no excuse whatsoever so...
