Cleanliness of one of the waiting staff was disgusting, coughing into a stack of menus from table to till point and putting them straight into the holder then handing them to the next customer s through the door. Not giving us the menu for puddings again, missing options off the menu we probably would of chosen and enjoyed more, Cola was bottled and flat, not much in the way of friendly service. We weren't told what we do once ordered the carvery, we just sat at the table and waited until we had to ask. Normal procedure is being told when ordering ro go straight up or getting a ticket. The puddings weren't great the ice cream was gritty, the muffin was warm but wasn't great, and there was a hair in it so I didn't finish it. The carvery was the only saviour, it was brilliant, generous helping of meat, yorkies were fab food on offer was great, didn't order off the menu so can't comment on it. I've heard good things about the fox and wanted to try it but won't be going again. Not worth the money we paid for the carvery in our opinion unfortunately, over priced for options, service and food offered.

Amazing service from this outstanding restaurant. We went there when there was a power cut. Nice little atmosphere, with candles lit and very calm. The waitresses were incredibly helpful and explained the whole situation and said that we could still eat and the power would be back on soon!. The menu has a great selection, however not overly huge compared to other restaurants which doesnt affect me personally but others maybe. When the food was given to us, it was outstanding especially for the price. I had a bacon burger and the beef was so well done, and honestly tasted fresh and looked fresh, as opposed to other places where the burger looks stale 🤣 Everything was so well presented too. Which I was not expecting for the price. Speaking of price, I wasn't aware of any deals, and out grand total was £36. Cheapest restaurant meal I had ever had. The drinks are expensive at £4 for a large so that's what made our meal bit over the top. But if we just ordered all 3 courses just for the two of us it cost £20. I will definitely be coming here again

Coming from America the sound of a "Carvery" was interesting. Back home there are no places left that cut beef in front of you. The staff was very friendly and made us feel at home right away. This is a locals restaurant and pub. Vegetables are local sourced and my wife really liked that they were not over cooked. Having traveled recently in several large cities, the 12 pound, 3 course meal was an absolute bargain. The taste of the food was also a very refreshing change compared to normal bland restaurant food. It is not a fancy place but neither am I. The Carvery offered Turkey, Roast beef, and two kinds of Pork. The plate was large and we were given lots of meat. The vegetables were self serve. The special offers a single to thru line. I could not eat my full plate so I am going to say the portion is normal to large. Deserts we're good according to two in our party. Like I said I was stuffed from the main course. The Fox Inn is a must stop in if anywhere near the area!

Booked a table for 2pm on Sunday 7th for myself and partner. We arrived a little earlier than expected but were promptly shown to our table. The place was fairly busy, but lacked any buzz (no music or atmosphere). Once sat, we were told someone will be with us shortly to take our order. The two tables sat next to us had gone to get their carvery and had nearly finished their food and I noticed not one of them had drinks... 15mins or so went by before we had an order taken. The two tables sat next to us reminded the waitress about their drinks, even though they had all finished their meals at this point. My partner and I waited abit before going to the carvery as I was thirsty, however they didnt arrive. Got to the carvery and it looked like a good selection. We chose our meats and were handed our plate, the plates were extremely hot and to give paper napkins to hold is not acceptable as the heat still comes through. Most of the vegetables needed to be topped up and the roast potatoes were below par at best. The meal wasn't very hot which let it down massively! We got to our table and still no drinks, the two tables near us still had their dirty plates but at least had drinks but were waiting on dessert orders. The lad behind the bar looked very bored and seemed to be on his own, making the drinks, cleaning glasses and taking payments... the waitresses didn't seem to be very customer friendly and lacked any service skills which is a shame as that is not their fault. We reminded the waitress about our drinks and when they arrrived the one was wrong, so sent it back and waited even longer for it to be corrected and without an apology. No food check back and no atmosphere. We overheard the guy in the carvery complaining about a table of 50 people that arrived the day before, so everyone is really tired etc. Why would you moan about business infront of guests?! I am so sorry but I have worked in hospitality for years and whilst the food was ok, the service from the staff in general was totally unacceptable. The couple next to us ordered their desserts (special of the day: Eton Mess) it arrived and looked awful, the woman who ordered laughed as she saw it and didnt even touch it.. no fruit and artificial strawberry sauce and no cream. Yes its free but that was just embarassing! It was enough to put us off ordering a dessert anyway! We went to pay and as we were waiting the lad behind the bar said "he was leaving as the place was a joke". The older waitress stepped in with another girl with pink hair... the girl with pink said she didnt mind covering the bar, however the older waitress shouted at her and spoke to her so poorly and told her "no you won't I will do the bar you get back on the floor". I felt sorry for her as that is no way to talk to staff! The card machine then went down and a guy from the kitchen came and sorted it... by this point I had to leave as the atmosphere was making me feel very uncomfortable, so my partner stayed and waited to pay. He stated that the older waitress again spoke to the guy from the kitchen very rudely. As I left there was a queue out the door and I felt sorry for them having to endure what we experienced. The whole situation could have been avoided, if at the point of arrival someone explained that the service may be a bit slower today due to XYZ please bare with us. That way we could have the opportunity to stay or leave. Not keep letting people through the door and make the situation worse for yourselves and guests. We were there an hour total .. half hour waiting for service...20mins waiting for drinks and 10mins of us eating our meal. Such a shame as the place has great potential but sadly I won't be returning. Better staff training needed to ensure guest experince is paramount... number 1 rule in hospitality, so...

On the 22nd January I have made a booking for the fox at Chaddsley Corbett from the online menu when we arrive at the fox they did not ask for a full name or any booking details when we have then sat down we have recieved a completely different menu then the advertised menu which was on the online website and was drawn to this restaurant from the online menu, we have made our order and was not advised that it was two different menus which if false advertising.

We then have ordered our starters and had no issues. On the menu that was given to us on the 22nd January they stated 4 different meat options beef turkey pork and gammon. I ordered this carvery for the pork as I do not eat any other meats when I then went up to the the carvery options there was only beef gammon and turkey which is not advertised on the menu if I knew there was only those 3 options I would of selected a different choice of mains.

The other 2 occupants that agreed to come with me from the online menu asked for medium rare and medium steak and we received a well done steak for the both of the to occupants that came with me, one of the meals was half eaten and the other we had to return as we was not happy with the food we received.

We then spoke to a member of staff asking for the food to be retuned as this was not we ordered.

When the member of staff left to go speak to the chef she then stated I am not dealing with this the chef has then come out with no sympathy or remorse from there mistake he then stated the online menu advertises that it is just a sample menu which is not the case he then agreed with me that the carvery that I received and was advertising was incorrect the attitude of the staff was completely unacceptable.

I have then had to pay for 2 of the meals which was incorrect due to not feeling comfortable with how the staff deal with there customer service even though the price of the 2 course and 3 course was the exact same we felt to uncomfortable to even stay for our desserts.

I have previously lived in this area and the standards of food and customer service had destroyed the reputation of this local country pub.

The only positive I can recommend is the blonde girl who really did try her hardest to make a positive outcome from this situation even though she didn’t not state about the carvery options she did know the full menu in detail.

I would not recommend ever going here as the standards of this restaurant has ...

Good food but awful service - like headless chickens! We went for Carvery on Sunday, firstly we were shown to our table and seated, we waited 10 minutes to be offered drinks. When we did order drinks an older lady came and took the drinks order - I asked if they had non-alcoholic lager - the lady had no idea and asked what i would like "just in case" as she had no idea if they stocked it. Even thought i had encouraged her to do so, she didnt write down the order. We again waited and waited, and after 15 minutes decided to go for food as nobody bought our drinks or came to take a food order. Whilst waiting we heard the table next to us was asking a young waitress for the wine menu - she had no idea what a wine menu even was....went to the bar, came back and said yes they had wine!!! At least she tried I suppose. We had asked about vegan options - there were only 2 and one of which (sausages) were sold out - at 1pm! The other option was a "veggie roll" which we decided not to have. By the time we got our food we got back to find 4 drinks between 5 of us - clearly it didn't take much to realise that this was wrong....but we decided that rather than wait longer we would make do. When eating we came across 2 hairs in our food - not nice. We didn't want to cause a fuss so decided to leave it. The food itself was however beautifully cooked - nothing was overdone and the red Cabbage was particularly good. If it wasn't for the food we would have rated 1 star so it really did save them. Once we finished eating we again sat for a good 15 minutes before I asked for the table to be cleared and for the bill. A young girl came over, took half the plates - almost spilled the mess over one of us and almost forgot to come back for the remainder of them. Nobody bought the bill after another long wait so I went to the bar - apparently even though its table service you have to pay at the bar once done - which nobody told us. You could literally sit and watch the waiting staff wondering in and out of the kitchen area with no idea what they would spot to do next - no system - like headless chickens. I explained the issue with the hair and they took one carvery off - once we got outside we realised the bill was completely wrong but decided it wasn't worth the hassle going back...
