RiverFront — Restaurant in Abbeville

We have been faithful customers to Riverfront for over 10 years now, and WILL NEVER RETURN after tonight! This place is always our go to place on many Friday nights, tonight I had a group of 10 with me and so we called at 5:00 pm and made a reservation for 8:00 pm. We were so happy to be celebrating my daughter's dancing recital at Riverfront. We get there at 7:50 pm and half to wait for them to clean our table until 8:20 pm. At this point, we are like, "Ok, we know what we want, let's just order". Upon sitting down with half of the tables available in the place, that we should have been seated at for our RESERVATION time of 8:00; we order drinks and our entrees at 8:30, have drinks and start looking around. Before you know it, its 9:00 and I've watched 2 other parties of 8 that came in after us and ordered after us, get served their food before us. 9:15 rolls around, and we ask our waitress to check on the kids food, which we specified that we wanted to come out first before everything. She says, "They are working on it". 9:25 rolls around, "Manager, where is our food???" He comes to the table and says "its coming right out", and of course, it didn't come right out. At this point, its 9:30 and my kids are screaming and all of my family and guests are so angry. My wife and kids and I were forced to walk out of this place. There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, that when you make a reservation over 3 hours ahead of time, get there before the reservation time, and are not served an hour and a half past your reservation time. There are plenty of other great seafood restaurants in Abbeville; they will now be getting my business and all of my family and friends business. When you have good food, but terrible service, it is the beginning of the end for you!!! We also watched as all of the wait staff and hostesses were laughing and playing around the entire time we were waiting for our food. SOOOOOO...

Went in on 3/31/25 got a seafood platter for lunch. Got 3 extra small catfish strips, “ looked more like catfish bites” 3 burnt oysters, 5 shrimp, 2stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab. My client at the fish & he enjoyed it.My client really don’t eat much & ask me for more fish today 04/1/25 I said ok! Mind you I’m not from this area & really don’t know any places to eat. So I order the same thing “ Instead of linch plate I ordered the dinner plate. I was told the supper plate has more food 🤔 only to get the same plate but instead of 2stuffed shrimp , I got 1 & it was the exact same thing as the lunch plate just w/2 sides instead of one , and the plate cost more money. Fried crawfish is suppose to come on the platter #None only to be told that’s why you have extra shrimp. “ They didn’t even mention crawfish the day before 🤦🏽‍♀️It came w/5 shrimp ,” What extra” a mess you hear me. They gave me 3 more strips of fish & sent me on my way. Nevertheless the stuffed crab was better yesterday than today. Just my opinion atmosphere is nice , I’ve definitely had better. My fiancé made reservations for my birthday aug 2 as we do ever year. The person agreed with av6 pm but when we arrived they couldn’t find our reservation for a table at window view but didn’t get it. We took another table and ordered appetizers and then we both ordered the fried catfish and crawfish etoufe. The main dish was awful. The fried fish was covered with the crawfish and a scoop of white rice was next to it. I was unrecognized as fried catfish after being soaked in the crawfish It I was the worst looking main dish I had ever seen. We eat out often at seafood restaurants in Acadians and this was very disappointing. Presentation is very important in restaurants but overlooking the presentation the catfish was not what one expects at a local seafood restaurant We took some home in go boxes but when I got home I tossed it. The wait service was good except for the reservation problem. I suggest you rethink the presentation of the dish we ordered. We really expected better for. Nearly $100 spent that nigh.
