In a very tranquil area surrounded by beautiful oaks, not far from the majestic Vermillion river, not far from the St Mary Magdalen Church you'll find Tito's La Casa restaurant. At first, I was a little hesitant to go in. I've never heard of the place, but I am not from around there anyway. The typical fresh aromas were not present. Like when you're walking in the French Quarter near Irene's or Adolfo's restaurant, where you feel an urgency to go in to try out whatever they're cooking. But, after we tried their New York style pizza and their wonderful manicotti dishes, we realized this was not an ordinary place, plus they probably have an excellent exhaust system. The chef came to greet us to our table and with a joyous and upbeat sounding voice "I just made this burrata cheese for you, I know you'll love it" His tone of voice conveyed the honesty of his feelings. When we tried the burrata cheese, we knew he had a good thing going. His accent reminded me a little to our Italian friend Andrea's from New Orleans, minus "Mi casa es tu casa" Later, we learned the chef was from New York and not from Italy. Kate, our server, was as extraordinary as the fine dishes they prepared. They also have many vegetarian options. Hey, people from Lafayette, go to Tito's La Casa restaurant. Abbeville it's not far from Lafayette. You'll never regret it. The food is great and reasonable priced. Tell themTito sent you. That's also...
Read moreI was very impressed with this restaurant. I don't get Italian cuisine too often (low carb diet and let's face it, pasta is king when it comes to Italian food 😁). However, my friend wanted to try this place out so I came along for the ride. I got the shrimp tortellini (pictured) and later, we split some tiramisu and key lime pie. Everything I ate was simply divine. My husband devoured his entire medium-sized pizza in one sitting and days later, looked back on that pizza fondly. That should tell you how good their food was. The prices are shockingly low for what you can expect at this place. Great service, outstanding food, and all in the heart of charming downtown Abbeville. We hope to return some day to try one of their other dishes. If you are thinking of trying this place out, go ahead and do it! You won't be...
Read moreI hate to be the guy that wrecks your 100% 5-Star rating, but.... My honest reaction to the Broccolli and Tortellini with chicken was just ok. The food was hot, but the Tortellini was overcooked and falling apart. The sauce was creamy, but was missing that Parmigiano Reggiano texture I expect from freshly made Alfredo sauce. My order was to go, but the restaurant was setup quite nice and was very inviting. We will be back for another round as I want to try the pizza. I hope you guys were here for a long time. Folks here in Abbeville just seem to crave the same old stuff and it's time to bring in some different cuisine. We shouldn't have to drive to Lafayette for great food and variety.
I applauded your desire to bring Italian to Abbeville and it is my hope that you are successful and profitable. Till...
