Abby Cafe — Restaurant in Abbotsford

I've been here a few times and each time the good and service has been okay. But today was a total miss! From the start the person I was with and I ordered the soup of the day with our meals. She ended up getting her soup and main meal way before me. Our waitress did say that they had to make a new batch of soup but what was the hold up on my whole meal? And looking around, we could see this was happening to other tables too, part of the table receiving their food before the rest. The lady I was with got french fries with her meal and we both tried them and the were completely cold. When I got my grilled chicken sandwich (the lady I was with had mostly finished her meal by this time) it was dry and tough to eat and missing all of the toppings I had asked for. There were about 10 other tables of people at the time so they were pretty busy but our waitress didn't check on us once after receiving our food. Even with 3 waitresses running around it felt like everyone was frazzled and running behind. The place itself is very cute and clean and the menu has a lot of variety but maybe that's the problem? It's a huge menu that has everything from seafood to pasta to burgers to chinese, like 5 pages filled with all sorts of types of food. Maybe they need to downsize the menu so they aren't so stressed or running behind? Or have a specific time for lunch and dinner items. I'm all about giving love and support to small businesses and I see all the great reviews from other people so maybe we just keep coming...

Abby Cafe has been around for a long time. And yet, its always clean interior looks fresh. The menu provides a number of homestyle cooked meals that are delicious and reasonably priced, served by friendly, efficient waitstaff.

Being almost midway between Green Bay Wisconsin and Minnesota's Twin Cities, you'll find the clientele to be a mixture of local regulars and travelers. Oftentime, these travelers are somewhat "regulars" in that when they travel between the two locations, they look forward to a good home cooked style sit-down meal at the halfway point.

Next time you're traveling through Wisconsin, I recommend stopping at the Abby Cafe for a real treat of good food and good service. Oh, and make sure you leave some room for their delicious bread pudding, baked pies (their mile-high lemon meringue is to die...

While traveling from Minneapolis to Mackinaw City my wife and I needed to stop for breakfast after 4 hours of driving. We love to eat at diners or small family restaurants. We pulled off the highway into Abbotsford, WI and found Abby's Diner. I had my usual 2 eggs over easy, link sausage, hash browns and rye toast. My wife had chicken salad on a croissant. Her sandwich was over stuffed with great tasting chicken salad. My eggs were done correctly the first time (I have been known to send back eggs as many as 5 times).
