La Popular Bakery Burrito Stop — Restaurant in Abilene

There is no other restaurant like La Popular. I got hooked on it years ago and have since moved away. I find myself searching for reasons to come back to Abilene to experience La Popular over and over. I'd say thier signature dish is the Carne Guisada burrito but they offer a lot of other great cuisine as well.

Some people complain about the price vs size of the burritos but La Popular is constantly running specials on many menu items; so finding something for those on a tight budget is never hard.

Expect a bit of a wait depending on what time of day you go. Well...just expect a wait period. It's one of the most 'popular' (ha, puns) restaurants...

Only possible downsides are wait time, amount of food for the price, and them running out of lemonade. Otherwise you can't go wrong swinging by here. The salsa is something else, if you don't want to eat it just for elsewhere because you're doing yourself a disservice. Get a lemonade. I don't care if you're allergic to lemons, get a lemonade. Staff is always speedy, sometimes they're just bogged down. Food is very consistent. Tortillas are very sturdy and soft, always cooked right. Consistency across several locations as well, always...

So usually whenever I come here, I understand sometimes there will be a wait, in this case for me it was 30 minutes. Which is fine, I went to work and started to eat it... But I am upset that the only burrito I ordered wasn't made right. I had asked for a bacon potato and cheese with cilantro and got a bacon potato and cheese with ONIONS. blehh, wasn't for me. I'm not mad at y'all because everytime I had come before, it's always been right, but now my breath is going to smell like...
