We recently held a bridal shower at this venue for approximately 45 guests, and while there were some highlights, there were also several areas of concern that impacted the overall experience. On the positive side, the service staff was outstanding—positive, attentive, and accommodating throughout the shower. The food was delicious and received many compliments from our guests. The indoor space was bright, spacious, and beautifully laid out, offering plenty of room to move comfortably and celebrate. However, there were notable challenges that should be considered before booking. The cost was over $3,600 for a relatively small group, which felt excessive given the overall experience. The event coordinator was difficult to work with—communication was limited, and responses to questions were often delayed or unclear. There were also overly restrictive and sometimes confusing rules that made planning unnecessarily stressful. In terms of decor, the centerpieces were outdated and in obvious need of replacement, which took away from the otherwise nice interior. Additionally, the exterior of the building was uninviting; it looked more like a haunted house upon arrival due to storm damage and ongoing construction—none of which was communicated in advance. While there are strengths to this venue, particularly the food, service, and indoor space, it’s important for potential clients to be aware of the current condition of the exterior, the cost, and the limitations in communication and coordination. With improvements in transparency, décor, and planning support, this could be a top-tier event location. We recently held an event at this venue for approximately 45 guests, and while there were some highlights, there were also several areas of concern that impacted the overall experience. Wow! Just WOW! I don’t think I’ve ever had such a delightful experience as i did with my adult daughter in this gorgeous venue! I heard about this place from a friend on Facebook about a year ago and I knew then and there I was going to surprise my daughter for her birthday with this experience since we are both OBSESSED with all things British from reading novels based in the UK ( our favorite author being Rosamund Pilcher ) to binge watching Downton Abbey, to watching Acorn and Britbox exclusively, to speaking in British accents~ well you get the picture… haha. From the moment we walked in the door of the Johnston House I knew this experience was going to be epic and it was! The key lay in the fact that this establishment is FAMILY OWNED! I think that always lends itself to the fact that you are going to be treated like royalty and have an experience that you will savor for years to come and share with everyone so they can experience the adventure as well. We wanted for nothing as the service was exemplary, the food ( all home made in house) and beverages delectable with endless cups of specialty teas and coffee, and the establishment was charming and quite pristine~ you could eat off the floors! There are rooms upon rooms to dine in and each had their own flair in decor and table settings. They have the proper English tea experience down to a T (in my opinion flawless) including but not limited to a wonderful selection of menu, with seasonal dishes. I’ve already scheduled a return trip in November so we can experience their Christmas Tea and visit the gift shop which unfortunately was closed due to renovations on the day we visited. There truly are no words to describe this place and do it justice. You will just need to book a reservation and see it for yourself.

This was our second experience at the Johnston House and it was again, incredible! We had a different room for each event and they were equally as beautiful. Nikki and the staff were absolutely amazing from start to finish. The professional manner in which every person that we dealt with should be commended. The elegance of the food and atmosphere are amazing. Thank you for creating such a beautiful memory for both of our daughters. Truly a "Tea Party" dream. Looking forward to our next event!! Sincerely, Diane Budziszewski

3 years ago I had my bridal shower at the Johnston Tea House so when I was thinking of where to have my baby shower, it was a no-brainer! I couldn’t wait to go back and re-live all the magic that this place evokes. The staff is absolutely wonderful and Terri (Event Coordinator) is very accommodating and easy to work with. I was impressed by her organization and flexibility and making small tweaks just even in the days leading up to the event. It was also nice to be able to communicate via text for quick/prompt responses. She also provides a timed itinerary to help you stay on track which os very helpful. The service staff is absolutely wonderful. Despite it being a larger event, there is never a sense of panic or distress noted in the staff members as they are confident in their ability to host large events without a hitch. The larger dining room is decorated absolutely beautiful and is so timeless. It allows for great picture backdrops without having to spend money on decorations that would just end up in the landfil thereafter. The food is absolutely amazing and much more filling than one thinks! I always hope for a few leftovers, lol. Many of my guest have reached out saying how much they enjoyed coming back and have enjoyed their time at both of my showers, a few even stating that they would like to book their own afternoons teas with their own girlfriends. Overall, always very impressed by the Johnston House!...
