What has happened to this place? I went through the drive thru tonight for dinner. I ordered a walleye sandwich with fries and an unsweetened tea. I also ordered a cashew chicken salad. It was over $25 for the order!! Ridiculous!! When I got to the window the guy said that they ran out of unsweetened tea while they were filling my cup. Would I want it filled the rest of the way with lemonade or sweet tea? Uh, NO, if I wanted that I would have ordered that. It was 6:15 and they were out of tea?! I got diet Coke instead 🤮.
I brought the food home to eat. The fish sandwich was so greasy that the bottom bun was a slimy mess. The fish was bland and mostly breading. The fries were very undercooked, not even a bit browned, but very salty.
The salad was shocking! Usually it's made with spring greens. This one was all shredded iceberg lettuce like you put on the sandwiches. There were 3-4 grape tomatoes and about 3 cucumber slices. There were plenty of cashews and some cheese. The chicken was not cut all the way through into chunks because there was a rubbery tendon running down the side that they didn't remove or bother to cut through. The chicken was not cooked fresh either. It wasn't even remotely warm. I have been a customer at that Culver's since it opened and I've had other less than stellar meals there, but nothing as poor as tonight, and for what I was charged?! Outrageous! I...
Read moreThe new Culver's opened for business two weeks ago today and I have made the trip four times now. The area badly needed something like this, and, for the most part, it hasn't disappointed. The butterburger is the signature offering. It is fresh and flavorful; head and shoulders above all the competition's comparable burger. The fish and chips is solid but I found the various chicken sandwiches a little underwhelming compared to some of the other fast food restaurants. One thing that distinguishes Culver's from the others is the variety of menu items, both entrees and sides, that you don't find in most places. There is an excellent pot roast sandwich, and several soups and salads are better than most. My only real comment to them concerned the fries. There is nothing better than a golden brown crispy fry. These are ordinary crinkle cut fries which, for my money, are generally pale and limp, with doughy and mushy interiors, especially if they have been sitting on my tray for more than a couple of minutes. They desperately need another 30 seconds in the fryer. Lastly there is the frozen custard, and it alone is worth the trip. It appears in just about any way one could think of, and is outstanding. Overall, if I was driving down the road and had my choice of all the popular fast food restaurants, I'd pull into...
Read morePoor customer service due to teenagers running the place. Quality of food has dropped significantly.
Last night I ordered in the drive-thru and was very disappointed with how my order was taken. The employee giggled through the entire transaction and didn't get my custard order correct. When I got to the drive-thru window his back was turned the entire time while still giggling with his coworker. When I came inside to get the correct order, he argued with his coworkers that I ordered incorrectly. The coworker he was giggling with remade the order with less custard than before. It did not seem intentional but they were very unprofessional with how it was handled.
I'm not sure why there aren't adults present. They don't seem focused at all. If these are young adults then this is a sad world, because it looked like a group of children with no fear of consequences.
Please do better with managing and training your young employees. They have very poor etiquette. It looked like a hang out spot where customers are inconveniencing them. That's what Culver's on York Rd in Elmhurst feels like now.
Please also do something about the young man working the drive thru window during the PM shift on 2/24/2025. The way his coworkers spoke to him let me know it wasn't his first time making the...
