New China Pearl — Restaurant in Addison Township

I just went there today (5/19/23) to pick up lunch. I had been there before and their food was fine. Not anymore!! I ordered the lunch option - Kung Pao Beef, comes with chicken fried rice and one egg roll. I pick up the food and now they changed their lunch portions. Way smaller! The rice was really bland. They didn't even mix it all the way, it found white chunks of rice together. The chicken in the rice was bland and really dry. The Kung pan beef only had 5 pieces of beef! The rest of the "veggies" was literally all celery!!!! Not to mention, when I picked up, I asked the cashier girl for spicy red sauce, she gave me red chili oil instead - so whatever, I took it. And she grabbed it from her right side, she must have a container on the counter by her. It was not like she opened a door and took it out of a fridge. She literally reached over to her right side and grabbed it and handed it to me. So I get back to my desk at work and start eating. I opened the red chili oil and poured half the little container on my rice and mix it. And guess what?!?!?! The red chili oil was SPOLIED! And I had already taken a bite, spoonful of my rice. I was so grossed out at the smell. I called the place back and spoke to a lady (not sure if it was the same cashier lady that charged me), and told them the chili they gave me was bad, spoiled, and to PLEASE check their food and stop giving that expired food to customers because they can give people food poisoning!! Sad to say, I won't be going back anymore....

I called New China Pearl and had the pleasure of speaking with Jessica. Due to her kindness, we decided to try it. This was our first time and definitely will be our LAST!!!! Our waitress came up to us rudely and obviously sick as she was hacking while standing at our table. I actually had to ask her to kindly not serve us. Luckily she was then replaced by Jessica. Jessica is kind, sweet and friendly. She should probably be working somewhere else! As Jessica is serving us, this other woman was hacking/coughing in the kitchen. She was also speaking aggressively. It came to our attention that this was Jessica’s boss!!!! Luckily she did not pick up any bad habits such as treating customers rudely and coughing all over them and their food. If you picked up and ordered or ate there and got sick, now...

Great Chinese cuisine, cooked to order fresh and piping hot, my favorites are the beef broccoli lunch special, large combination Egg Foo young (each large patty has a generous portion of beef, BBQ pork, chicken, and shrimp in a delicious brown gravy, and plenty of it!). Above all I love egg drop soup, many places screw up this simple soup, not at China Pearl......it's perfect, as it should be. Add to all of this, they are less than Three blocks from my house as a bonus. My recommendation is go often and try all your favorites and see them get them made as you remember for a reasonable price..... Since I moved into the neighborhood 14 years ago, it's the only place for...
