Thornwood Restaurant Lounge — Restaurant in Addison Township

Bar tenders were great, food was good. All went south after we closed out, got one last drink a little before last call then payed our tab. We hung out and as I was half way through my last drink there bus boy asked, “can you move so I can sweep.” Got a little frustrated by that we understood it was 30 before closing but at the same time maybe that’s a normal procedure. What ever it was it’s not customer satisfaction I can tell you that.

After he swept I moved my seat back and he said “I have to mop.” I looked at him said ok and moved my seat back again. We moved to a table. Went back to the bar left my half drank High noon and left. The bartenders were wonderful but sadly that just left a sour taste in our mouths.

Unsure if management put this in closing procedures but I think it should be reconsidered and recommended to be looked at for an overall better experience.

Illinois food service sanitation code 750.1220 states that you should wait until after closing to clean floors. I think if it’s written in something that is supposed to be followed per law then it probably has reason for it. On the dramatic side things if you had someone previously injured and walking with a crutch, cane, or mildly intoxicated (as one can get at a bar) I think wet floor could be dangerous and lead to bigger issues for the business.

Over was an okay night was going good till closing and ending your shift was a bigger priority than making sure your costumers Saftey and experience which directly affect the traffic of your business becomes less...

The first night eating in this restaurant the food was good and the service was great. The second time was a to go order for a salad which tasted like a salad should taste. The third time the service was average. The food was well below average. Ordered tortilla chips and cheese and it was not good. Not sure how you can mess up chips and cheese but the cheese tasted like it was an off brand dollar store can of cheese that was poured into a dish and microwaved. The chips tasted like some weird experiment for homemade tortilla chips. I forced myself to eat about 5 chips with cheese on it telling myself each time that my taste buds must be off because there is no way chips with cheese should taste this bad. I asked the bartender to take them away because they did not taste good and I couldn't look at that abomination anymore. I ordered a salad later and it tasted like a salad for the most part. Unfortunately the Chipotle ranch tasted like it was mixed with water. Normally you have to scrape out any combination of ranch dressings but this one poured like water and was extremely bland. I got the bill and the abomination that is called chips and cheese at this place was on there. We have gone here a few times mostly because it's close to our work but also our friends wrestle here for POWW! And they also love the karaoke on Wednesdays. Tonight the good was Excellent! We got the breaded mushrooms very crunchy delicious flavor and the ranch sauce was yummy like a garlic ranch sauce! The pretzel sticks with cheese were amazing! And the chicken strips were juicy and had a thin layer of lightly crunchy flavor! I do have to say it was very unfortunate that our waitress didn't keep coming back and we had to bring our food to her later to get box's and close the tab cuz she never came back. And it honestly wasn't that busy in the other room she kept going into either. Over all we had fun! I definitely recommend it for cozy atmosphere and fun entertainment...
