Peking Express — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

This place is average at best. There are way better Chinese food eatablishments in the area than this one. I ordered the comination lo mein and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was delicious. But the combination lo mein was not. The pork was not cooked thoroughly and was red in color. It was supposed to contain shrimp, chicken, and pork. There were only two shrimp in the entire platter! I could not eat the pork due to it being undercooked. The chicken was barely edible. The lo mein noodles were not even that great, either. It had mushrooms in it, which is nasty, especially for a lo mein dish. The other vegetabkes were fine but I hate mushrooms and that ruined the whole dish for me anyway. The pictures amd description on the website did not say mushrooms were part of the dish or I would have made sure to ask for no mushrooms. Overall, I was displeased and would not return...

I like this place enough to go back. I placed our usual order... BBQ pork appetizer, crab rangoon, egg rolls, beef chop suey, Cantonese style shrimp noodle dish, and an orange chicken dinner special. Everything was good or great. The egg rolls stood out as particularly amazing, they were thick and well flavored. Orange chicken had a good homemade taste and the dinner special comes with an egg roll and one crab rangoon so it's a good deal. My only complaint is the pan fried noodle dish was made in the style where they use lots of bean sprouts rather than the style where they use large chunky vegetables which I prefer. First time I visited Chicago staying at a hotel only 6 minutes away from this restaurant, after reading the reviews I decided to order. At 8:15pm I placed my order and they told me it would only take a 45 minutes....Still somewhat of a long time, I thought it would be okay. Now an hour and a half later at 9:45pm I still have not received my order. I am extremely disappointed at the service. I called three times and on the third time the woman said "They are not their yet? They should have been there already." Needles to say I am going there tomorrow when they open and getting my money back.
