Hoagie Man Deli — Restaurant in Adrian

The subs (2) were not bad tasting. However, we had to wait in parking lot for close to 40 minutes because a worker forgot to match our order numbers with the number your given to display on your car window as you wait. The only reason we got the subs after waiting is we had to go inside and ask about the long wait. We were told that the worker forgot to write number on our order and they simply apologized. I could not understand why one of the workers never approached us and questioned us in that they saw us sitting there with our number clearly displayed, waiting. We saw workers come out of the shop over a half dozen times or more for other orders, yet us being there so long didn’t seem to concern anyone. We were told inside usually there’s a 10-15 minute wait. This is the first time I’ve ever given a negative report to anyone. Unfortunately, we are from out of town, thus I’m not sure how the owner can make it right. However, the owner reaching out to me demonstrates that there is remorse for their employees action. This was a simply mistake, and could have easily been rectified by having workers keep tabs on whose in parking lot. I was introduced to Hoagie Man Deli right before I moved away from the Adrian area for College. Boy did I make the mistake of not going there earlier to try their steak and cheese hoagie.

The service at the Hoagie Man Deli is always a delight. The people that work there are very friendly and seem to recognize me every time I go in, which is crazy because now I only go once every few months due to living so far away. I make it a point to stop by and get one if not 2 hoagies every time I am in town (as stated above, not often enough).

Service aside, the food is great. The price for the Steak Cheese hoagie in my mind is right on target. There is a lot of meat in the hoagie, therefore it cannot be super cheap. The Steak & Cheese hoagie here is like no other, I try to hit up every hoagie, or grinder shop that I find now that I have tried Hoagie Man Deli, but not 1 can compare. I went in there for the first time today and I was NOT pleased with my visit. I went in there planning to get dinner for myself and the person that was with me but HAD to walk out. So this review is NOT about the food but the service! We walk in and start asking questions about different items on the menu to the girl at the counter. Instead of responding or even saying "one moment please" she proceeds to ignore me and get the attention of another worker to get assistance with the pos. When she finally did respond to us we were given nothing but attitude. Responding to our questions like we were dumb because we weren't well versed on the menu. I don't like going into a restaurant and the first impression I get is condescending and rude behavior from the employee. This experience left a horrid taste in my mouth.
