I was disappointed with this place. The name Galleon sounds grand, but it wasn't. We were not given a welcoming greeting. The food was just okay. Don't you expect a nice restaurant to turn out tasty food? And the portions were rather small. Small portions aren't such a big deal, but the price was a little steep for rice and beans. My son had steak and he said it was good. We sat on the patio expecting a pleasant atmosphere, but the air freshener smell was pouring out of the restrooms located at the back of the patio. My husband closed the doors and that helped, but you all know that bathroom "air freshener" odor isn't exactly the ambiance one looks for in their dining experience. The Galleon is across the road from the beach and I thought there would be a nice ocean breeze, but it was just big fans. No music was playing, only the tv over the bar. I know that the ocean breeze cannot be controlled, but there are other ways to improve the ambiance. Maybe their indoor dining area is nicer; I don't know because I didn't go in there. Maybe the outside is just a sports bar and I expected too much. But the bottom line is the food, and mine was not great. I was not impressed...
Read moreI was hoping that i could have written a review since my wife and I are celebrating our 49th anniversary and they had grilled lobster in the menu, which my wife loves BUT when we showed up for dinner, they would not allow service animals. Don’t get me wrong, if they state on their website that they can not accommodate service animals, which is a federal violation, i would not have picked them when i was looking for a restaurant to celebrate.
They even have an outside dining area but they wouldn’t allow us to sit there either.
Again my complaint is not stating on the website that service animals were not permitted.
It’s a shame that restaurants don’t abide by federal law and chose not to make an attempt to warn customers that they can not or WILL NOT permit service animals.
Sad situation that could have gone sideways but the celebration of our 49 anniversary was saved.
I did find a great restaurant in Aguadilla that we looked at as well, Peña Blanca restaurant that had great grilled lobster for my wife and, Surf and turf for me.
If you are looking for a restaurant that follows federal law as it relates to service animals, Peña Blanca in Aguadilla is it and the...
Read moreDo not visit this restaurant. My husband is disabled and due to his condition, he has a service dog. We were vacationing in PR and decided to visit this restaurant. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a NOT DOGS ALLOWED! The dog had her harness that clearly identifies her as a service dog. However, we were denied the service. Incredibly and for our surprise, they still refused our entrance. We had to leave. The owner and employees of this mediocre restaurant needs to understand the law. A SERVICE DOG is not a pet, it is a tool needed by the patient for his wellbeing and his health. Our service dog is trained to service my husband on his condition and it is crucial for his health to keep her by his side at all times. These people are completely ignorant of the law and it is incomprehensible the way they treated us. I am asking for every person that has a service dog and/or knows or has a friend with one, not to promote nor visit this restaurant. They are inhumane and completely insensible as well totally ignorant of the law. They were pathetic and unprofessional....
