El Gran Chaparral is a classic restaurant I’ve been visiting since I was a kid, and it holds a lot of good memories for me. To be honest, the mofongo and the broth didn’t taste quite as amazing as I remember from back in the day, but the carne frita was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. I also tried the mojitos, and while they were okay, they weren’t among the best I’ve had. That said, the food overall was still good... I don’t want it to be misunderstood. It’s just that the flavors didn’t hit me the same way they used to. Even so, I’d go back again in a heartbeat. It’s still a solid place with good food and great service!!

The best Mofongo I have eaten in my life. Great service and very friendly. They claim to have over 50 years of experience on making Mofongo and it really shows. Always heard of this place when I was really young and now I love eating there.

We ordered the Dorado and the salmon and the flavor was okay but obviously frozen fish which is unacceptable when the Dorado is in season and a restaurant is 5 minutes away from the ocean. The vegetables were canned and the accompanyment sides are all deep fried using the same oil and tend to taste the same. We finished eating and it took over 45 minutes to pay as the waitresses while polite are extremely distracted and don't check on you regularly unless you flag them down. They also brought the wrong entree to us two times before we actually got what we originally ordered. The two tables to our side and front also had similar issues they might even have gotten the food we originally got but we saw them sending things back left and right we will definitely...

I have been dining at El Gran Chaporral for many years, every time I visit my beautiful Island. On my last visit, to my pleasant surprise, I found the restaurant has been renovated. It is more spacious with a modern, tropical decor. Really cool and relaxing. Food has always been good, with fair prices and attentive service, which keeps me returning to this icon of a place. My all-time favorite is the Mofongo stuffed with shrimps in Creole sauce. All dishes I and my family have tried, have been well seasoned and fresh. Yummy, delish, and a generous portion. Highly recommended when in the Western part of the Island, Aguada, right on Route 2!...
