This meal could have easily been a 5 because of how tasty the chicken was, unfortunately the papas salteada were pretty over cooked to the point where I basically got mashed potatoes with 1 sad onion lying on the bottom of the container. They also left some of the twine on the chicken which I bit into and almost swallowed. The woman at the counter rolled her eyes at me when I asked her to chop the chicken into smaller pieces, granted the food was already plated but it was a very simple request — Could’ve done without the attitude. Overall the staff was pretty upbeat and working pretty hard. I’m sure the owner even came up to me and took my order as the line started to get backed up.

Delicious chicken is juicy, and the flavor is very well seasoned all throughout. Get the whole chicken. You won't regret it. It's better to have some leftovers than be left wanting more. Went on a saturday and had to wait over an hour in line at around 12, and they were already selling out of some food so get there early on the weekend to beat the crowd. The mashed viandes were so yummy and an unique and flavorful take on the PR classic. The arroz con gandules was bland and lacked enough gandules wouldn't get that again. The baked batata was perfect compliment to the smoked chicken. Would absolutely recommend this place! Can't wait to try there other offerings. There’s no way this place is a 4.8. I just had lunch and it was not good at all. The yuca al mojo and plantain escabache had zero flavor. The Al mojo had no garlic taste, it didn’t even have salt. Same with the escabeche, no salt. The chicken definitely had salt and I actually liked the taste but it was over cooked. The wing of the chicken was nuked, very hard and dry. Like jerky. Also the arroz con grandules was a little hard, like it was sitting for a while. I just don’t understand why this place is so popular with a long line. I recommend going to Caldente BBQ.
