Finny's on the Towpath — Restaurant in Akron

My husband and I both had the daily specials, which for the day was cheeseburgers and fries. The burgers were okay, the meat seemed fresh and was actual meat and more a frozen patty so that was nice but they just didn't taste all that great... Maybe the quality of meat was on the cheaper side for them, or perhaps it was the chef that day, regardless, we each ate our burgers and both left the fries practically untouched because they were just awful. Again, very generic tasting only the fries were much worse than the burgers. The bartender/server that day was all smiles and was kind but wasn't the greatest at the whole checking to make sure everything was satisfactory or even subpar. I ordered a good ole, long island mixed drink, I literally took one sip and it sat untouched until just a few minutes before we were ready to leave and I asked if she would pour out some of the (by that time melted ice) watered down undrinkable drink to add some pineapple juice and sprite or something.. which she did so with a friendly smile, but I was pretty bothered that she never once in the hour that we were there, noticed I hadn't touched my drink, never offered to take it off the bill after it sat there for 45-60 minutes before I finally asked her to fix a few things to make it drinkable, and still changed me for the come I ended up ordering in place of the drink I actually wanted, nor did she even inquire about why neither of us had touched our fries. I really hoped to be able to play some pull tabs and a game or two of pool while there but I didn't see an atm to get cash out and since she barely came over to the part of the bar we were sitting at .. which was at the actual bar right by the pool tables, we didn't have a chance to ask her if there's was one. Very nice place, not so great...

Dairy Queen in a great place to watch sports with their many different televisions play Keno at 1 0r2 of the keno machines, nice recovered pool table with new bumpers, excellent jukebox selection and excellent sound system, stage for live bands, totally different place than I visited last when it was MaxMcQs and even Mt pockets.. Ami Brown still works there, managing the place and doing a great job! And of course Candice is like a picture there every time I go she's there but she's great to chit chat with.. and of course pennies won't be finished without some cute seasonal holiday decorations!!!

And the food is absolutely fantastic! There is nowhere else in Akron that can beat their lunch specials, so don't miss out and give them a call Monday through Friday they're even open for breakfast but you can check out the lunch special ahead of time which ranges in price from $6 -$6.75. and you can't beat that with a baseball bat let alone the portions I usually always have plenty left over for...

Went for dinner tonight. We had a long wait to get drinks service was not good. The staff does not know what drinks canned they have and leave to go find out and take forever to come back. They had a steak special tonight asked how much it was they did not know and had to go ask. The specials on the sign when we walked in at 6pm were still breakfast. The menu needs updated. They have wing sauces wet and dry on an erase board behind the bar which have many more listed on the board than on the menu so you have to go up to the board to see them. The steak was awful. It tasted like it was cooked in beer and over salted. The veggies and baked potatoes were good. Needless to say won't...
