Nasty Food. Rude Service Doesn't like it Diner Review • Dec 07, 2012 #2 Two Eggs, Sausage, Ham or Bacon, Homefries, Toast & Jelly.#5 French Toast, Sausage, Ham or Bacon. - After reading the reviews and growing tired of the norm, the wife and I decided to see what else was out there. Long story short we found ourselves at Fred's Diner. Parking in front of the restaurant was full so we parked in the unpaved muddy overflow lot across the street. Once inside we were warmly greeted by a woman who shouted "sit where ya like" We chose the only available table in the back and ordered coffee. We did not have one waitress and were served by as many as 5 different ladies. Most of them were very polite. I Ordered #3 Two Eggs, Corned Beef Hash, Home fries, Toast & Jelly. My Wife had #5 French Toast, Sausage, Ham or Bacon. The potatoes on my home fries were blackening from sitting out too long plus they were under cooked. The bacon was plentiful and also under cooked( not crispy at all). My eggs were over cooked and scrambled with cheese does not mean place two slices of cheese on top of the eggs. The wife got excited when she was told the french toast was cooked with Texas style bread but when she got her order it was with regular bread and very dry. They did not have any sausage links so the wife chose patty's instead and she described them as inedible. Her eggs were also over cooked. The meal was horrible to say the least. My service was almost okay until I ordered an extra orange juice. After waiting 10 minutes to my astonishment the oldest waitress at Fred's Diner threw a bottle of orange juice and a glass on the table and said "Sorry, I Couldn't open it" and walked away. I was so steaming mad I almost walked out of this place without paying. Avoid Fred's Diner at all cost. You will be leave...

FRED'S DINER FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR! They deep fry bacon which makes your mouth water! The diner makes DELICIOUS old fashioned, stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts! The omelets are fabulous! The selection on the menu is great! We had a gem of a waitress! She made the dining experience such fun. She is EXCELLENT at her job! I only only have 2 complaints: I wish the restaurant was larger. Everyone is packed in there like sardines. That makes the noise level a little uncomfortable. There is ALWAYS a waiting line for a table which, that alone, tells you how DELECTABLE the food is. However, the people in line can see all of the diners already seated. The people in line burn holes in the back of the heads of the seated diners, which makes the seated diners VERY uncomfortable! The seated diners know they are being watched & timed by the people waiting in line. That makes it impossible to take your time & really savor the food. The diner has a very, very fast turnover of customers. My second complaint is that the diner is only open on the weekends. THE DINER HAS TOP NOTCH FOOD WHICH MAKES THE CUSTOMERS WANT TO COME BACK MUCH MORE OFTEN THAN THE DINER IS OPEN! Another true testament of just how EXTRAORDINARY Fred's DINER is!! I CAN'T WAIT TO...

TL;DR - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A classic small diner in the truest sense of the word! Had come here before during the pandemic, forget what I had got but it wasn't any thing special. I was a little unsure if I wanted to come back. I couldn't be so happy to be so wrong. Actually got to sit at the counter and have a full meal. The food! The atmosphere! Truly the definition of a diamond in the rough! This place has a cult following and what I can only call a family of dedicated customers, because person after person just kept coming in and it was like everyone knew everyone! I knew no one but my friend, yet everyone was super welcoming! I highly recommend anyone to come here! Wait times might be higher (please note, it was VERY BUSY when I was there), but you're to busy talking with people to even notice, and with the amount of business they do, I'm surprised the wait times aren't higher! The kitchen staff work as a well oiled machine! With the man Fred himself leading the charge! I will most...

We have been eating at Fred's since the late 90's. We loved going in to eat the most delicious food and visiting with Fran, Ruth, and Theresa. We watched Jenna grow up and start a family of her own. Three years ago, we moved out of state after spending 20 years in Akron/Tallmadge. We continually talk about how much we miss Fred's. In Maine, they think bacon is 2 slices!? Delighted to say we made a quick trip home this weekend and got to go to the ever busy Fred's for breakfast. While we didn't recognize the all new, young faces, we did watch them hustle and run like a well-oiled machine. And, man did they deliver. Our breakfast was as good as it always has been and we savored every bite! Fred's Diner... you are hands down the best! Always have been. Always will be. See you next time. And, thank you!

I was looking for breakfast after a local race and this was just the ticket. The back of their shirts states "Eat, Pay, Get Out". They are not messing around here. And for good reason, the parking lot is full with a constant flow of customers, many you could tell were regulars. All the servers were fun and happy. The food is outstanding and out before I could finish my first cup of coffee. The portions were just right with just a few leftovers for the lighter eater. I had the corned beef hash and my wife had french toast, so much french toast. The building is deceptively big with more room in the back so do not be discouraged when the lot is full of cars. This is a must for a great breakfast, quick, delicious, and on your way. We will be back.

Want a good down-home breakfast? This is the place. The food was excellent; eggs over easy, corned beef, hash brown potatoes, sourdough bread, a large, really large, pancake, and cranberry juice. The potatoes lacked seasoning and needed to cook a bit more but that's minor. I had heard how good the food was and finally took the opportunity to experience it. It was well worth every bite. The space is small so get there early. The personnel was warm and welcoming and the prices reasonable. The portions are huge which makes a meal a "good bang" for a buck. Put this one on your bucket list. The photo shows a half portion. An order is twice the amt. Bravo Fred's. I apologize the photos aren't better.
