I will edit this review weekly to keep it as one of the newest.
Edit: As of 10/21 had yet to send my title to the bank nearly 2 months after fully paid for, and because of this I cannot yet register the car. The temp tag has expired. I called nearly 20+ times with no answer. Finally they did. Hope to be able to register the car soon.
Where do I begin? I started my search for a Cadillac Escalade at the beginning of August, wanting to upsize and transition from electric to gas.
I paid for the car in full on August 13th and was told the maximum delivery time would be two weeks. This was already longer than I anticipated, but they were repainting the scuffed rims, so I remained patient.
I continued to be told that the work was in progress, but the reality was that the painter for the dealer had supposedly quit, and they hadnāt even started. I was not informed of this until I repeatedly inquired about the delay.
During this time, I had a loan on my account and no car. They have said they will reimburse for my payment while the car was not in my possession, which will appreciated when it happens.
Finally, the rims were completed, but after being told it would take a week, they were finished on August 28thāover two weeks after my payment.
Next came the shipping. I received a new delivery date every week and was guaranteed that it would arrive by a certain date, but nothing happened. They kept giving excuse after excuse. By September 3rd, I became frustrated enough to ask to speak with a manager. To my surprise, after asking that, I was told that the car would arrive in two days.
I took delivery on September 5th.
The car seemed nice; however, the delivery driver mentioned that they were still waxing it when he arrived to pick it up, causing him to wait two hours. This was disappointing, especially since I was told it was ready for shipment days before, but not my concern.
After driving the car, I noticed it was shifting extremely hard the next day. I informed the sales representative, who advised me to take it to Cadillac for a diagnosis. I sent them the invoice detailing the repair costs at Cadillac; it took them a whole day to decide if they would pay. When they agreed, they instructed me to take it to a local mechanic for repairs to save costs.
The repairs have been completed by the local mechanic, and they covered the expenses, but the car still seems to shift relatively hard in my opinion.
EDIT: Thankfully car was paid off this morning(10/4).
They picked up my trade-in (a Tesla) on Sunday(9/29), and at the time of this review(10/3) I am still waiting for them to pay it off (said it would be by 10/7, they already have it listed for sale) and to reimburse me for the payment on the vehicle during the wait, as well as the diagnostic fee from Cadillac. (Over $1,000 owed to me which I was told by āTatinaā I would receive today (10/3)⦠didnāt) finally received this compensation on 10/7
I have purchased 5 cars the last 3 years, some having to be shipped as-well, and never had this experience. I tried to remain understanding, but this situation has felt like a joke. I was excited to upgrade and purchase a new car, which should be an exciting process. Now, I feel anxious every time I notice a weird shift or something abnormal, worrying that I will have to replace a costly component on a car that was not purchased at a bargain price, also with no warranty because of its $4,000+ price tag.
Edit: Was told by the GM, Corey, he would try to get me at warranty at cost. Never heard another word from him even after following up.
As much as I would love to leave a positive review, this is the maximum number of stars I can give. Yes, they paid to have it āfixed,ā but the overall experience and lack of communication have turned this transaction into an absolute nightmare and ultimately caused for a low rating.
I would absolutely not recommend purchasing a car from this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give 4.5 stars, I would. I had a mixed experience with PAC, but overall, I was pleased.
Earlier this summer, I found a 2004 Mercedes CLK 55 convertible in a relatively rare color at PAC. It was definitely one of the least expensive vehicles, if not the least expensive, in stock at the time. But, I worked with Alan who made treated me like I was buying a more expensive car.
The bad: to make a long story short, the car's convertible top hydraulic system was shot. In PAC's defense, it wasn't visibly leaking but the top wasn't working properly, and sometimes not at all. They attempted to have it fixed prior to purchase and I was told it was fixed. When it was going to be put on the truck for shipping, however, the top wasn't working properly.
The good: Alan could've simply put the car on the truck and pretended he didn't notice anything. But he pulled it to have it looked at again. Big props to PAC for doing the right thing when other shops probably wouldn't have.
The bad: They looked for someone to fix the top and eventually found someone who was doing the work on the side. Also, 400-500 miles were put on the car during all of this process but that's secondary to the fact that the repair took longer than anticipated. I appreciated Alan communicating when I reached out but I kept getting excuses about the car and finally got frustrated and basically said to just ship it if they can't/won't fix it.
The good: After that, Alan reported the top was fixed and the car would be shipped soon.
The bad: When the car arrived, there were more paint defects than I had originally known and weren't visible in the pictures. To PAC's credit, they had repaired some significant clear coat damage that was discovered when I had a PPI done (which showed the top was working, btw). Had I not had the PPI dcne, I would have never known about the clearcoat damage. So, I was disappointed that the car arrived with a few more small areas with clearcoat damage. Based on other sales of similar vehicles, it was priced as a good example, not one with multiple clearcoat issues and a leaking hydraulic top system.
The bad: Aside from paint issues (and a possible AC issue), when the car arrived, it quickly became apparent the system was definitely not fixed. A simple review of the pump reservoir showed the fluid level leaking after a half-cycle. Plus, the fluid in the reservoir was quite dark, as opposed to the gold-ish color of the fluid. This told me that someone put the wrong fluid in, put an additive in to try to stop the leak, or, after talking to an expert, pieces of the bad seals floating in the fluid. This was quite frustrating because I was told twice the system was fixed.
The good: PAC eventually paid for me to get 7 rebuilt hydraulic cylinders to swap in, which was a huge blessing. They probably could have told me to pound sand but they did the right thing. Along with my dad, it took us 20 hours over two weekends to do the swap but it appears to be working now. I appreciate PAC continuing to work with me after the car was delivered when they could have gone radio silent instead.
Based on having to either pay a shop $5k+ to repair the system or do the massive job myself, after paying for a vehicle priced as if it was in good shape, I would have given a worse rating (again, to be fair to PAC, I did have a PPI done which didn't catch the leaking system). But, based on Alan's honesty and willingness to work with me, my rating is much better than it would have been.
Despite my mixed experience, I would buy another vehicle from PAC and would certainly work...
