One Love Karibbean Kitchen — Restaurant in Akron

Where to begin?? The food is beyond amazing!! My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time last night and I only have great things to say. We were greeted with kindness and enthusiasm from the man and woman working there. We let them know it was our first time and we didn’t know what to get, and the guy gave us some samples of the food to try. I tried the curry goat, curry chicken and both were superb. Tender and flavorful. Ultimately I decided on a large jerk chicken plate, white rice with the curry gravy, cabbage, baked Mac and cheese and got a side of fried plantains. My bf got the same thing but also had the bbq baked chicken, and he had the jerk fried rice instead of white. Both large combos, and we got 2 desserts ( cheesecake and pineapple cake) and 2 drinks. We spent about $50 for everything. And EVERYTHING was Amazing. Not just the best Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to, but simple just some of the best food I’ve had period. You can tell the food was made with love, seasoning and a whole lot of respect. We will be back! And yes you should go. We were so grateful that we decided to check out this local place instead of going to one of our regular spots. We’re trying to be more intentional with where we spend our hard earned dollars. We could have easily spent the same amount else where and wouldn’t have gotten the same personal experience, the super large portions, nor the experience of simple trying something new.

I will say the only thing this place is missing is some tables and chairs because let me tell you, this needs to be a dine-in establishment! Though if I pulled up a chair I’d probably never leave lol

This is my 3rd trip. 1st trip to One Love was amazing. Ordered online , food was ready. Young lady behind the counter was very sweet and helpful. Ordered oxtails, goat, and rice, and a few beef patties. All menu items were 10/10 . Repeat order for my second trip. 3rd trip. I ordered, chicken curry ,yellow rice, and the BBQ Jerk Ribs…chicken curry wasn’t the best I’ve had. Sauce could have been a little thicker and more flavorful. But those Ribs were amazing!!! The jerk bbq sauce was so good. I could put it on anything! I did forget to order the beef patties. A must have every trip. Well another reason to go for a 4th trip! Thank you for the great food...

I am a truck driver. I went to make my delivery at the consolidated CCCI at Akron. While i was waiting to be unloaded. I needed a good genuine real sauce food to eat. I wasn't ready to eat any junk or chemical food. I made a search on Google for an African restaurant, and none was closeby to order. I found this lovely clean Jamaican restaurant both in and out. The staff were nice and courteous to attend to my needs. I couldn't resist the presentation of all the foods. All in All, the food are delicious and wonderful. Shout out to all the staff, who took care of my needs. The next time i visit again, I am going back...
