Simon Perkins Stone Mansion — Attraction in Akron

I was born and raised in Akron and remember coming here in elementary school on a field trip. That's about all I remembered about Perkins Stone Mansion, and I've always wanted to go back. It's a pretty stone Georgian home and grounds on Copley Rd. I took a tour, and it was very interesting. There was also information about the Perkins family, and there were indeed sheep still roaming the grounds. It was a very hot June day, but it was cool inside the house due to the 14 inch solid stone walls. I love Akron and its history! Simon Perkins Mansion is a "must"see for Akronites, as well as, visitors to our city. I have visited here many times, always learning something new about our great city. In fact, I learned that our family, had donated items to the Stone Mansion. I love visiting here. This house is beautiful! Lots of access and information. My children and I went there expecting to just walk around but we're greeted by a very friendly employee who guided us to an intro video about the home and then took us to the house where we were taken on a private tour by the sweetest woman! She was very informed on all of the questions I asked and even told me about their paranormal tours and some of the things they show you on that tour. An amazing...
